Freckled

I didn’t dive too deeply into my inventory for my newest round of Raid Your Closet, but these are things that met the criteria! Most of these things I’ve had just a few months. But hey, newer things need love, too, right? Like I this beautiful, freckle-faced DeeTaleZ skin I bought earlier this year, and never once wore. I love freckles on other people, like my beautiful sister Peppersley. I just don’t usually like them on me. But this time, I did.

Trace my freckles with your fingertip

My dress is a fairly recent release from coldLogic’s spring line. This may sound weird, but I love the creases. The attention to detail is just one of the things I always love from the coldLogic designers. Also, it’s worth noting I am wearing this dress, in the standard sizing large, with my Maitreya Lara body without any issues. Just had to alpha out a few parts, and voila! My strappy, sexy sandals are from Livalle, and this beautifully bohemian hair is from Tableau Vivant.

Waiting for my dinner date

The Return of the Raid Your Closet Challenge!

Hi! So, I’ve brought back the Raid Your Closet Challenge! RYCC 3.0 is officially underway. If you missed the original and the sequel, now’s your chance to take part in the latest version. Not familiar with RYCC? Well, here’s a page with lots of info!

The RYCC Page

This challenge requires that everything blogged was in my (and should you choose to participate, your) inventory as of 11:59 pm April 30th, 2015. As in every prior RYCC you are expected to wear an entirely new outfit – something you’ve never blogged/photographed/worn before – each week (or however often you participate), but you can have exceptions. My exceptions include my shape (my own creation) and my eyelases (Mon Cheri’s Falsies, which I wear nearly exclusively). I likely also frequently repeat my SLink mesh hands and feet, though probably not in every post. If you decide to participate, either via Plurk, Flickr or your own blog, just make sure you list your own exceptions, too!

For my first pic, I’m wearing seriously adorable Ohmai Salon hair I bought at last year’s Hair Fair and never wore once. I built the outfit around this hair, and the dress is from Gizza that I bought at Shiny Shabby a couple of rounds back. Without further ado, here are my pics… both taken at Blithe, which is fast becoming a favorite place to take pics!

Birds of a feather...

Be sure to join the Flickr group to follow as the challenge progresses and add your own pics. You can also share your blog links in the comments of this post!

Better late than never!

So my final installment of the Raid Your Closet Challenge is nearly a week late. Uhm. Oops. I have some sort of self-imposed hatred of deadlines or something, I think. Even when they are my own damn deadlines.

For this final post, I remembered to take out a pair of shoes I utterly love but for some reason, never seem to wear! The Moxie shoes from Maitreya, which break the “no sandals and socks” rule in the best (and really only acceptable) way possible! I decided to relax by the fire in my autumn porch set from What Next.

Halloween Idyll

I wore my Elena skin by Izzie’s that I love so much, but I paired it with one of the matte Dailyn lips because they are so bold. This hair from Shag is an old favorite that I’ve had over a year.

Moody Purple

These cute shorts are from G Field. I bought them months ago and this is literally the first time I’ve worn ’em. *facepalms* The top is from Cracked Mirror, and it’s cleverly named “Poe.” The future English teacher in me really loved that!

Poe

This challenge was so much fun to do again (even if I’m a week late on my final look). I might have to dust this one off again sometime down the road. Thank you to all who participated. I hope you had as much fun with it as I did!

Three for the price of One…

So, I am a bit behind. As a result, you get a special Three for the price of One blog post from me! First on the agenda, Week Four of Raid Your Closet.

I love autumn clothes. I love layers and tights and jackets. I also love the “smart, but sexy” look, which is what I was going for with this week’s RYCC. I paired this cute skirt from Blueberry with a blazer by House of Fox that I grabbed from the last round of Collabor88. I added some fuzzy tights from JANE, these adorable not-quite-boots shoes from G Field, a sketchbook from Elymode and my Gos Intuition glasses and considered myself good to go. Oh, and the super sexy but softly feminine t-shirt under my blazer is from Sleeping Koala. Anyone who thinks textured clothes are a thing of the past needs one of these t-shirts. The detail work is incredible and they are perfect for layering!

Book Smart

Next up… The Black Market! I loved this outfit from Sakide for The Black Market. It’s really cute, sexy and girly. I paired it with a recent shoe release from Severed Garden. These Nana pumps have a hud and there are so many color combinations. They are some crazy high heels, but that is offset by how freakin’ cute they are! The sheer tights are a new release from Izzie’s. I was absolutely thrilled with this release because I’ve been dying for some “pantyhose” type tights.

Feigned Innocence

The stunning skin is the newly released Jaci from Aeva. Though the Bare and Belle Amie versions have been out for a few weeks, Amesha recently released the full makeup line. This soft, delicate and perfectly autumnal makeup is called Chocolat. My jewelry set is Enchanted from Cae, and it’s so pretty. It’s texture change with multiple metal options. For this look I used the rose gold metal.

Next, a bit of homestyle. I used my Anastasia Autumn skybox again for this pic. The chair is from Mudhoney for The Outlet and comes in several color options. I used the teal because I liked the unexpected splash of color. The leather sofa is from WM, also for The Outlet. It’s texture change, and includes an option you can tint. The bookcase and pile of books is by FD Decor for The Black Market. Like the sofa & chair, this is also mesh. I was exhausted from standing in those heels, so I plopped on the Emma chair to relax.

Autumn Living Room

That’s all from me for now. Soon I’ll have more from Cinema!

RYCC Week 3!

For week 3 of Raid Your Closet, I went for something a little edgy. I absolutely love this Demi hair from Truth. It’s so different from my usual style preferences, but it’s unique and fun. I paired it with leather leggings from Tres Blah and this gorgeous lace top from Insatiable Fashions. One challenge for me with mesh pants has been the difficulties in pairing pants with shoes! I find it endlessly frustrating at times. I was able to mod the placement and size of these booties from Maitreya to make them work for this picture, but I do want a solution because I love pants tucked into boots… and right now, that’s rarely possible with mesh pants. It would be cool if a designer released jeans with boots all as one piece, sort of like the mesh leggings at Maitreya that have built in booties. But I digress… here’s the pic!

Against it

This skin is Briar from Aura. Recently, the Briar fatpack was available at Knitting Circle Rummage Sale for an amazing price, and I decided I had to have the full line. I love the pouty mouth, and the overall drama and sophistication of this skin.

RYCC Week 2!

Yes, I’m late posting my own challenge. I fail. Unfortunately, RL was annoying yesterday. But, better late than never, right? So… without further ado, I present Look 2.

This skin is from Lara Hurley. It was one of the skins at One Voice, and I think it’s just lovely. It’s so soft and pretty. My shoes are an old favorite. I’ve had them for almost two years. They are Baby T’s from Pixel Mode. The lingerie is fairly new – but not too new to qualify! – and it’s from Little House of Curios. I absolutely love boy cut panties, at least in SL. They manage to be both sexy and sweet, in my opinion. This pose is built into the Sophia pillows from What Next. I need to do a Home Style post soon because I now have the house of my dreams, and I want to show it off.

Entranced

This seductive hair is Siri from Truth. It was one of the September releases, and I’m finally getting the chance to blog it. The chair is the Nieve chair from What Next. I have the bed, side table and rug, too! I love this set. Yes, it has snowflakes on it, but I happen to love snowflakes and personally I see no good reason they can’t be year round decor. Of course, I also live (in RL) someplace that can get snow basically 11 months of the year (though typically we get it from October through May)!

Waiting

Raid Your Closet Week 1!

As you may have heard, I’ve brought back a challenge I began last October. The goal of this challenge is to get us to raid our inventories (aka closets) for items we already owned before the month began! The “official” posting day of this challenge is Monday. There are five Mondays in October, so that means a total of five posts for this Raid Your Closet Challenge. However, by all means, you are welcome to do more posts if you so choose! Last year, I wasn’t yet a blogger… in fact, it was the RYCC that turned me into one! It began as a Flickr/Plurk challenge, and I had so much fun I did it until the middle of December! After that, I was “microblogging” regularly. I never would’ve guessed I’d become a “formal” Second Life blogger. It just wasn’t something that I’d ever even considered. There are so many tremendously talented SL bloggers, after all… but I am glad I decided to take the chance. Which brings me to my first pic.

I loved this tattoo from NiNight Creations. “Believe in yourself” is such a positive message, and if I hadn’t believed in myself, I wouldn’t be posting this right now. I’ve already seen several of your posts, and I’m overwhelmed that people want to do my challenge! It’s fun, and exciting for me. The gorgeous skin in these pics is the new face from Aeva, Yves. This is the “bare” version in tone 1. I added an elymode tattoo layer, so I am wearing some frosty eyeshadow and light blush. I also snagged these eyelashes from Gaeline Creations after seeing them on Sileny’s first RYCC post. Thankfully, she published it yesterday, so I managed to buy them just in the nick of time for the RYCC cutoff! They are hud controlled which makes editing them so much easier. Plus, you can manually edit one eye and click a button on the hud to get the other eye to match exactly! Absolutely genius! These eyes are from IKON’s new Kaleido series. I was a little reserved about this series at first, as when you zoom way in they are really quirky and unusual. I thought they might be too over-the-top for me… but I decided to try a pair and fell in love!

Yves by Aeva

I haven’t been feeling great, and for some reason I struggled today to put together a look I liked. But when I finally figured it out, I was really happy with this fun, cropped top from Cracked Mirror and the tulip skirt from Sn@tch. I added my always trusty and oft worn Gos Pimp Your Pumps point platform shoes and my grey Frenched nails from RezIpsa Loc and was really pleased. The hair is Alice Project. If you are someone who loves to change hair colors often, you really just must check out Alice Project. Her Infinity hairstyles include this hud that is just loaded with colors. For me, it comes in really handy because although I am almost always a redhead, I do like to play sometimes… but more to the point, I can’t always be a redhead in our store ads! That would be really boring. This hair is called Marie, and I love how it’s long and sweeping, but stays so nicely out of the way of clothing! The greys of this look suited my mood… which oddly enough perked up considerably once I’d finalized my look.

RYCC Week 1

One of the goals of this challenge is to make each look as unique as possible. But you can also list exceptions. For example, my wedding band, which Rad made for me (based on the RL band he put on my RL finger in April 2004), is something I am rarely without. I also will repeat lashes and possibly my shape. I make shapes, and am almost always in my own unique shape, but sometimes I model ones we sell, too. You can create your own exceptions… just be sure to tell us what they are!

On a final note, I am going to try to push this challenge a little further. Like many SL bloggers, I am often given previews to blog. These things are, obviously, going to be new in many cases… and so they don’t qualify for the rules of this challenge. However, when I do post them, I plan to style these items with all things I owned before today! We’ll see how I do, and if I can resist the temptation to blog new things!

Please feel free to share the link to your posts in the comments of this one! ❤ You can also add your pics to the RYCC Flickr group.
