Autumn Collaboration

A new round of Collabor88 opened this week, and the colors are rich, vibrant and perfect for October! You can check out the whole catalog here. It’s a must-not-miss round (but aren’t they all?)!

I fell head-over-heels for this dress from The Secret Store. It just screamed my name, and I had to fight the urge to fatpack it. But if I’d done that, I wouldn’t have been able to grab so many of the other goodies I wanted, so I simply picked my favorite color combo. The gorgeous house in the background is from Trompe Loeil, and also at Collabor88. I will have more photos of that before this round ends, but you simply must see it in person to appreciate the rich textures and amazing details on this build. The potted mums I snagged recently from MudHoney, and the pile of pumpkins are from Eleventh Hour’s pumpkin gacha at the Fantasy Gacha Fair (more from that event soon). I bought my leafy autumn grass from Zigana last year, and the adorable log path was a wonderful find from Alchemy for just 1L! The autumn rules sign was part of vespertine’s Arcade gacha this past round. I don’t know if they’ve made those available in the mainstore yet.

Autumn Collaboration

This stunning skin is from Collabor88, too. It’s by Glam Affair and is another in the Neva series. This is one of my all-time favorite Glam Affair faces, so I was absolutely thrilled to see it in two tones (Jamaica, as seen here & Artic). I also grabbed some new lashes recently. Mon Cheri released their Falsies lashes, and I have to say, I love them. You have two options for wearing them; one where the bottom and top lashes are one object, and one where you add them separately. They are hud controlled and there are lots of fun variations, like dip dyed and glitter. There are also 3 styles of lashes. I highly recommend the demo, which you can use to practice fitting. I’m not the best at fitting lashes, and it took me a while, but I did get them to fit (about as well as I ever get lashes to fit) after about 45 minutes.

Tuli & coldLogic

I was reticent when mesh first came out. It had its growing pains, and the truth is, I don’t love change. But when coldLogic opened, just over a year ago, my world changed. I loved the “shape” of their mesh. It felt like it suited my avatar’s curves, and I felt like “me” when I wore it. Since then, I’ve become a huge fan of all of their work.

So, when I saw there was an anniversary photo contest, I knew I had to enter. There are so many great entries. I honestly don’t envy the task of choosing a winner!

I entered this picture first. It was based off an ad vendor I was doing for our store, and I really liked how it came out. The dress is Hathaway, and it’s so sleek and elegant. Perfect for a fancy, summer event. I knew it all starts with a smile, Kaelyn Alecto’s gorgeous new sim, had the perfect spot for this pic.

But the more I looked at the picture, the less sure of it I felt, so I decided to do another pic. I wandered back over to it all starts with a smile. I love this carousel, and the poses in the horses are so unexpected and quirky. I like quirky. This time I am wearing the Bardot dress in lemonade. I have to be honest… I rarely like yellow. But when I do I love it, and this dress is no exception. The soft, buttery shade, combined with the pink, melon shade for contrast is just stunning. I feel so sophisticated and summer in this look.

Finally, I wanted to do a headshot to show off this gorgeous skin from Tuli, Claire. I’ve always like Tuli, so I am glad the store is back with new items. I am especially excited because the skin has an option with dimples and I adore dimples. These are really well done, too. Oh, and the eyes are from the new IKON Lucid line. Gorgeous, aren’t they? My adorable choker is from BOOM. I’m wearing the baby pink shade, but it’s mod and I tinted it ever-so-slightly to match the melon shade in the dress.

I am off to travel for the weekend. SO excited. I love a good road trip. I hope to do a lot more blogging next week… now that I’m finally feeling better and caught up on grad school work (for the moment).

Ah, the unplanned hiatus!

So, I sort of took a break. It wasn’t planned, but I found myself needing to refresh and relax last weekend. Then I had a fibromyalgia flare up, and that’s been distracting me all week. I also started a new class this week, at a new university. I’m excited by this, as I really want to accomplish my goal of becoming a teacher! But the result of all this is that I’ve been a distracted blogger, to say the least, and for that I am sorry! However, I have not forgotten my Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow challenge, and I’ve been uploading pics for it on Flickr. I’m still a bit behind, but at least I’ve got some and can catch up a bit. More will come soon.

Since I’m behind overall, I deviated from my default look to show you some cool stuff. But let’s start with the pic I did for Day 5, I’m using my default pose and outfit, but this skin is the gorgeous new Ginevra from Izzie’s in pale. I added the brown eyeshadow and eyeliner tattoo layers. My eyes are Steppe, a new color in IKON’s Eternal series. I love the sort of greenish-tan feel to this shade. I took this pic on Tuesday, the day of the Rolling Restart hell! Our sim was one of many affected by the restarts, and I couldn’t do anything on it most of the day. So, I used the Linden home and snapped this pic there. The chair you see is from Trompe Loeil, and the wall decal is What Next. The hair of the day is Ashleigh from Alice Project. If you are like me and are fussy about the shade of your hair, you definitely need to check out the Alice Project hair. Her huds are amazing and let you do a lot to customize your style.

HTGT Day 5

For Day 6, I deviated entirely from my default look. You can find full credits at the bottom, but this top is from Greymoon. It’s so unique and comes in a lot of colors. The one I am wearing is black and white and I paired it with jeans from Sn@tch. My Day 6 hair is Long Day from Ploom. I technically bought the browns pack, but I tinted it. I’m not entirely sure how I wound up with the browns, lol. Likely I bought them for a shape or pose ad for Embody. I love the messy, wispy style of this hair. I also tweaked a shape and made it my own. I think most people won’t even notice the differences. They are probably more subtle than I think they are!

HTGT Day 6

This skin is new from Aeva. This is Charity bare. It’s so soft and delicate. I felt really pretty and ultra feminine in this skin. What I really love about the bare skins from Aeva is that they still feel more mature than a lot of bare skins. The eyes I used in this look (and the next) also one of the new Eternal eye colors from IKON, Teak. I love brown eyes with my red hair. It feels less expected than green or blue. I mean, I wear those, too! I’m a chameleon, except for my hair color which is (nearly) always red (some blog posts aside)!

Charity

Day 7 features a LeLutka hair I bought ages ago and sort of forgot to ever wear. *Facepalms* But that’s the point of this challenge, right?!? Lively is sooo long and lush. I feel so pretty in this hair. I’m wearing a dress from Sn@tch and the gorgeous new Siobahn skin from Adam N Eve.

HTGT Day 7

I admit that this hair shade isn’t as red as I like it to be, but this style has a little clip. If I tint the hair, I’d tint the clip. And this red is still pretty, especially with the bright lips on this skin.

HTGT Day 4

So, I changed the pose for this pic because I also changed the jewelry in order to show off this stunning set from Cae. Guinevere is coming soon to the new round of Collabor88, so be sure to check it out. This pose is Embody’s Elle 3.

The hair for today is also a new Truth release, January. This is one of those fabulous, elegant updos that are great for showing of jewelry. My color is blood w/roots. Skin credits are the same as my default. Oh, and I got my ancient copy of Fireworks installed and YAY it works on Windows 8. I was worried about that, given how old it is! But now I can edit more properly again, which makes me happy. My OCD doesn’t like to post totally raw shots.

HTGT Day 3

Day 3 brings a slightly edited pic… I’m making progress with Windows 8, but I still need to get my ancient copy of Fireworks installed, so ignore the pointy bits I didn’t get to smudge.

Today’s hair is a brand spanking new one from Truth. Isn’t it just adorable? The style is called Zuzka, and I’m wearing my usual shade (blood w/roots). All the other details are the same as my “default” look. You can find those credits here.
