Where the ocean meets the land

I fell head over heels in love with this adorable Alice Project hair released at Hair Fair 2016. The (literal) hair bow and braid are so sweet and just perfectly done. I knew this was one I’d need to shoot from the back, to really show how gorgeous it is, but the front is very pretty, too. I’m wearing the frilled swim bottom in bloom that is part of Neve’s recent, ginormous swim collection release. What’s cool is you can mix and match the tops and bottoms, making these really customizable. But I decided to be a bit sassy and just wear the cute, ruffly bottom for this pic!

where the ocean meets the land

I wanted to show you the new LAQ mesh head, Trinity. This is LAQ’s first foray into mesh heads, and I really love it. The shape of the face is so beautifully done. There are a few things that particularly stand out for me about LAQ’s head. First off, it’s OMEGA compatible out of the box. No add on to buy or wear. You can wear any OMEGA applier you’d like with it. Secondly, it has a really nice, clean hud. It’s very user friendly and not overly complicated, which is something I think is a particular bonus for anyone who has wanted a mesh head, but maybe has felt overwhelmed by all the huds and options. I’m wearing the built in default applier, which is called Wilma, and is also available for sale at the LAQ store, so if you like the applier but are attached to your current head (no pun intended), you can demo it and see if you like it on that head (as long as it’s OMEGA compatible). There are also multiple other appliers available for it, including some of LAQ’s more popular older skins, like Elena. Also, I’m still wearing the Jennilynn hair here, so you can see how sweet and pretty the front bangs are.

Trinity

Hair Fair 2016 wraps up this weekend, closing with Bandana Day on Sunday, July 31st. This annual event is truly amazing, and something I always look forward to, so be sure to look out for my Bandana Day ensemble on Sunday! In the meantime, be sure you go and grab your own bandanas. They’re only L$50 per bandana, with 100% of the proceeds going to charity, and there are – as always – some truly incredible and creative options to choose from… even if you’re not a blogger, it’s a great cause and you get something fun and unique out of it!

Ascension

Hi! So it’s been a while. First I was busy blogging Pose Fair over at Hottie Cooterati’s site and then I traveled back east to visit family. And naturally my husband and I both got sick. Grr. But anyway, I’m back and The Epiphany just opened, so I have things to talk about and share!

Unless you’re living under a mesh rock, by now I’m sure you’ve seen the stunning Oakley set Blueberry did for The Epiphany, but I have to show it to you again because it’s so beautiful, sexy and just overall well done. Plus, it was fun being an angel! I’m wearing hair by Alice Project, which is also at the event, along with the gorgeous sandals from Reign.

Ascension

Also from The Epiphany are my eyes by Buzzeri. I’m wearing the Rainbow here, which are one of three rare colors. But all of the colors are stunning. I also wanted to show the exclusive tiara from Blueberry up close. In case you’re new to The Epiphany, all of the participating designers have an exclusive item which you can get by cashing in your extra gacha items. You can read more about the process here. I’m also wearing White Widow’s exclusive, the band tattoo around my leg. The rest of my tattoos are also from White Widow, in their regular machine.

Doubt

Unrelated to The Epiphany, I’m also in love with the Karin mesh head from LeLutka. I’m wearing it with Lara Hurley’s Iza applier, and I have to say I feel like this combo is the closest I’ve come to my standard avatar face. I enjoy the mesh heads, and I don’t mind looking very different. But it’s kind of cool to have finally found a combo that feels like “me” the way this does.

More soon, from The Epiphany and beyond! In the meantime, here is the shopping guide, and below are the slurls!

The blogger’s closet

Festival Of Sin II has been so much fun so far! It’s winding down, and closes September 5th, so I wanted to share some goodies from the event before it’s over!

I love the hair MINA did for Lust. It’s so lush and sexy. The shoes from fri.day for Vanity are gorgeous, sexy and versatile. I’ve paired them with a stunning new release from coldLogic’s new brand neve (more on neve to come soon!). This dress is so pretty, with its lacy texture and (though they’re covered by my hair here) dainty straps. I’m using Exposeur’s glam Luxury Closet gacha for Greed at FOS II as a backdrop for this look. I thought it did a pretty great job of representing what a blogger’s closet might look like, if SL bloggers actually had closets and not inventories. Though come to think of it, mine would probably be more cluttered and less organized! 😛

The Blogger's Closet

In this picture, I’m wearing Blueberry’s recently released yoga pants with items from Uber. My top is Miss Chelsea and my hair is Truth, and both can be found at Uber. The gym bag next to me, by Bueno, is also at Uber. My sleepy koala friend is by +Pepper+ and is at Festival Of Sin II in Sloth. The beautiful barn I’m using as my yoga studio is from Pixel Mode’s Arcade release. This release has NO rares! Even this gorgeous barn build is a common. The Arcade is now open, and runs all month so if you can’t get in yet, don’t fret! You have time.

Koalas can sleep through anything

I was honored to be chosen as a Hottie Cooterati staff blogger, so I’ve blogged some pics over there, but I wanted to share them here, too.

This one was taken on the FOS II sim, in the Sloth section with a fellow FOS II blogger. The builds are spectacular, and honestly it’s worth going for that alone, but there are so many goodies to be had, too. You can read the full credits on this post here.

Seen at the Sloth Motel

This one features Schadenfreude’s Acedia table, which comes in a clean version, too. I also have one of Anya Ohmai’s free sponsor gifts featured here, a snow globe designed for Hopscotch. You can read all about this post here.

Spiders in the attic

Finally, in this picture I’m wearing Alice Project’s sexy bedhead hair for Lust, Baiastice’s stunning gown for Vanity and Cae’s serpent bracelet for Envy, along with one of her gacha rings for Greed. You can get all the details here.

That razzle dazzle birthday bash…

It’s really hard to believe that it’s been two years since Collabor88 began, but it has! This baby is growing up fast… and it just gets better and better. Collab – as so many of us affectionately call it – has consistently been my favorite monthly event since its inception in August 2011. That hasn’t changed, and in fact with this birthday bash round, the designers have just outdone themselves. First of all, the theme of Razzle Dazzle is awesome. I love all the vintage clothing and furniture. Secondly, Cory Edo of Trompe Loeil built this gorgeous birthday building for the celebration. It’s truly spectacular, and when the crowds die down (that could be a while!), it’s worth popping over for a visit just to see the building… but bring your wallets because you will want to shop, too!

I have lots to show you from Collabor88’s 2nd birthday round. Let’s consider this first post a warm up, shall we? Everything aside from my SLink hands and feet, my eyes and eyelashes is available at Collab… even my pose!

This dress from Auxiliary is just so cute. I love all the jeweled colors in comes in, and the studded collar gives it a touch of edgy modern flair, which I’ve come to expect from Aux. My shoes are from Ingenue, and they require the SLink medium mesh feet, but they’re utterly adorable and available in tons of colors.

It's like a dream

This skin is a 20’s inspired version of Izzie’s brand new Kaelyn skin. I’m not sure when the full release of this skin is coming, but you can snag several versions of it at Collab’s birthday bash in the meantime! Oh, notice I’m not a redhead? I know… I was shocked, too. But this look wanted dark hair, and well… once in a while even I want to be different! The hair is from Alice Project, and it’s utterly adorable. Also, here you can get a better look at the studded collar I mentioned on this dress. Oh, by the way… if you buy this dress, be sure to wear panties with it, as the alpha doesn’t cover, erm… your bits. Of course, if you’re channeling Sharon Stone ala Basic Instinct, then by all means, skip the panties. 😉

Plum Perfect

Finally, here’s a close up of the Ingenue shoes. I love the details on these flirty little shoes. The bows are so sweet and sassy.

Kick up your heels

More to come! I know many are still having trouble getting into the event, as the sim has been full, but you have time to get to Collabor88 before the round is over. It’s one you don’t want to miss! Don’t believe me? Just take a look at the gallery on the Seraphim blog post!

Alice Project for Hair Fair

Hey y’all! Hair Fair 2013 wraps up tomorrow. Sad, right? But the good new is, there’s still time! You can hurry over tonight or tomorrow and grab some awesome goodies. I wanted to take a minute to highlight the available hairs from Alice Project for Hair Fair 2013.

Alice Project recently released a new Create Your Own color pack option, and I have to say this is some seriously addictive and cool scripting fun. First off, there are probably like a gazillion color options. Secondly, you get five hairs that are pure white and you’re able to customize to suit your needs. Cool, right? You can also still opt for the Infinity option, but I recommend giving the Create Your Own packs a try. I am pretty sure you can spend hours playing with all the options and colors. I know this because, uhm, well… maybe I did? Shh. But how can you blame me? There are roots options, dark tips, light tips, streaks, glitter streaks, glitter dips! It’s intense!

I put the names of each hair right on my mini-collages. Bear with me… I don’t usually do collages, and I know it’s not my strength, but I felt it was the best way to show all six hairstyles. My skin is one of the three gorgeous editions of Lulu from Glam Affair for Love Donna Flora. My top is also a Love Donna Flora item, the Eva bustier in purple by Lark. My eyes are from IKON’s line. I used the same outfit/pose in all of the pics, just to keep it simple. The pose is Peekaboo 1 from Embody.

Oh, by the way… this first collage features Erika. If you click the info sign on the wall near the doorway in the Alice Project Hair Fair booth, you will get this as a gift! As if that’s not awesome enough, there are 2 slightly different versions in there. Erika V2 is a bit longer, and that’s the one I have on here.

Alice Project: Wendy & Erika

Alice Project: Mika & Melissa

Alice Project: Veronica & Megan

You will find Alice Project on Sim 4 at Hair Fair 2013. Be sure to hurry over before it all ends tomorrow!

Cupcakes & Tiaras

So, it dawned on me a few days ago that my blog must be nearly One.Whole.Year old. I was wrong. It’s already past that milestone! I wrote my first post on May 3, 2012! I can’t believe it’s already been a year. I’ll be honest. When I started this project, I really didn’t expect to last more than a couple of months. I figured I’d get bored. On the contrary, I love it far, far more than I could ever have imagined. I get to be creative in ways that were never really options for me before SL, and I really just enjoy it so much!

I’m not the only one celebrating… FaMESHed just marked its first birthday, too! I was about as shocked by that as I was to realize my blog had turned one! It’s like the year just blew past us. I guess it’s true what they say about time and having fun!

So, to celebrate these occasions, I donned some of the awesome items available at FaMESHed’s birthday round. Definitely check it out before it ends… there’s so much awesome to be had! I love the SySy maxi dresses. There are a ton of color options, including darker colors, but I opted for this pretty pastel lavender shade. I had to use one of the Cupcake poses Embody released recently, because our store is celebrating a birthday, too! It’s been three years since we opened, and I’m kind of flabbergasted by that. My tiara is also a FaMESHed item, from Maxi Gossamer. The gorgeous curls I’m wearing are courtesy of Alice Project, also for FaMESHed’s birthday. I love curls, so this was a must have hair as soon as I saw it.

Birthday Princess

Recently, I indulged and bought SLink hands and feet. With the new appliers and nail huds all over my Flickr stream and on the feeds, it was too tempting to resist. I hadn’t previously bought them because I found them tricky to tint. Which was odd because I’ve worn plenty of SLink in the past and never had issues. But then again, in those days I wasn’t changing skins like four times a week, either. So I had to tint once, not every time I changed. #problemsofaskinaddict

Anyway, I love the SLink hands and am having a lot of fun with my nails. I also LOVE the Cae jewelry set for FaMESHed, and I wanted to show that (and the nails) off, and this pose from E9 was perfect for doing so! Oh, and on my left hand is a ring from Exquisite. Years ago, when Rad & I decided to get married in SL on our 5th RL wedding anniversary, he gave me a ring. Like two years ago I deleted it. I happened to mention to him recently that I still was bummed about this, and he went out and bought me a new ring. The side stones are texture change (this is the tanzanite option) and I love the ring – and my husband – so much!

Mercury In Aquarius

My aunt is an astrologer. She has gotten paid for doing charts in the past, but for the most part she does it because she enjoys it. I personally don’t “believe” in astrology anymore, but I grew up with her teaching me things about it, so I know very well my sun sign (Pisces), my moon (Sagittarius) and my rising sign (Capricorn). I also happen to know that I have both Mercury and Venus in Aquarius. While I may no longer believe it, I am amused by the description for Mercury in Aquarius because it does sound a lot like me:

“You tend to be very opinionated — you have strongly felt notions about things and are quite vocal about expressing and defending them. Yet you are also an original thinker — you enjoy shocking others with your offbeat, original thoughts. You appreciate and need mental and intellectual stimulation. Your judgment is usually fair and impartial — you can be a good critic because you can remain objective and unemotional about most things.”

At any rate, you can get a free chart here if you so desire.

At the Zodiac event in SL, they are currently set up for Aquarius through February 13th. Aquarius is the “water bearer,” and this Valentina E. Couture dress reminded me of flowing water, so I decided I wanted a waterfall in the background. I visited the lovely Chakryn Forest for just such a spot. Since Aquarius is an air sign, I decided to just hover near the water. The gorgeous hair is Alice Project, also for Zodiac (it even has a barrette option in the symbol for Aquarius).

I am Air

Then I got artistic. I wasn’t going to blog this pic, but I’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response and kind comments this pic has received. I don’t tend to do anything to “artsy” because I’m trying to strike a balance as a (primarily) fashion blogger. I like interesting pictures, but I still want the clothing and other items to be fairly easily visible. Anyway, this pic is the result of my playing around with Wind Lighting. I just loved how dramatic it was. I did do some post-processing, but very little. Mainly just some softening and cropping.

Dream Flight

I wanted to also take a more simple photo to show off my skin from Essences. This is also from Zodiac, and I will be honest… I like freckles on other people, but usually don’t like them on me. This skin, however, was just SO damn cute. I had to have it! My eyes are another new pair from the Eternal series at IKON. I’ve been doing a lot of brown shades lately. I’ve decided I really like brown eyes with my red hair. This shade – Mahogany – is so rich and has so much depth. I loved them right away.

Essences Zodiac

I’m really excited for the next round of Zodiac. I can’t wait to see what “my” sign has to offer! But be sure to check out this round, because as you can see there’s plenty of gorgeous to be had right now!
