Twist Of Barbwire

Like so many others I love the show Nashville. I’m a big fan of country music. My music tastes are eclectic and varied, but folk music has always had a special place in my heart, and really country isn’t that different from a lot of folk music. Anyway… the title of this post is a reference to a song from Nashville. I was thinking it fit this sort of quirky look I’m about to blog!

This seductive bandage dress is from Ricelli for TDR Fusion, and you get multiple colors for under L$70. There are 3 color packs. It’s a sexy, clingy and versatile dress. I was in a funky sorta mood, so I paired it with these fun, gorgeous cowgirlesque boots from Chillie.

Red Boots

I decided I wanted to try out this Smart Mesh leather jacket, also from Chillie. The idea of Smart Mesh is that you wear it, go into edit mode and it fits to your shape. Which eliminates the need for multiple sizes. I found it fit my shape easily, and I was very impressed. However, a word of caution… the one advantage of sizes with jackets is that you can layer a larger sized jacket so it fits on a smaller size mesh top, or in this case, dress. Though you can’t see from the angle I shot this pic, the dress did come through the back. This makes sense, since the fit is based on my avatar shape, not the mesh dress shape. Regardless, this jacket is richly detailed and has a lot of customization features that are fun to use via a hud. My nails are from Izzie’s, and the gorgeous jewelry is from Maxi Gossamer.

Darkly Dreaming

I felt rather mysterious by the end of this shoot, as I got kind of creative with wind lighting (and then post-processing). This Truth mesh hair Sam was a group gift a while back, and it’s still one of my favorites. I really want more shorter mesh hairstyles. This one is sexy and elegant, and yet edgy and funky… it’s not easy to find things that can suit such a wide variety of looks, and when I find such a piece – whether hair, shoes, clothes, etc… I tend to never wanna let go!

Kick Up Your Heels!

I love the chance to discover a new store. My friend, the lovely and talented Caelan Hancroft, recently opened her jewelry store Cae. I absolutely love the elegant designs she’s creating. Plus, all of her pieces are texture change and have a wide variety of options. I love options. I was beyond honored when asked to model one of these sets, and you can see Cae’s work at her mainstore on the Truth District. You’ll also see one of her sets up close and personal in this post! Here’s a look at pieces from the Knotted set. I usually only wear silver/platinum/white gold… but I really like Cae’s copper, rose gold and even her gold tones. Here, I’m wearing the tri-color option this set has.

Tied Up In Knots

I also have another new discovery to share with you… the adorable ankle boots I’m wearing in this next pic are from a new store called chillie. Right now, chiilie is only on Marketplace, and you can visit their MP store here. These boots come in two types of leather, but I am wearing the suede version in my pic. Each pair is texture change. You can change the heel cap, the heel, the sole and the boot itself. It makes these boots very versatile and a great deal, since you get more than one pair of shoes in, well, one pair of shoes! Plus, I love texture change shoes because they help cut down on your inventory.

My skirt and jacket are more Valentina E. Couture items (I might be a touch obsessed with this store). My adorably sexy t-shirt is from Sleeping Koala. There are people who will claim there’s no longer a need for texture clothing, but I am not one of them. First of all, I love layering and it’s often easier with a texture layer than trying to layer mesh pieces. But secondly, some clothes are meant to fit like a second skin, and this top is definitely among those items. I’m also wearing a pair of sheer stockings from Izzie’s, further proving a need for texture clothes!

Continuing with Pose Appreciate Week, I am featuring poses from my very favorite SL pose creator… and yes, I may be biased since he happens to be my husband (in RL and SL) Radagast Lexington. In all honesty, when we opened our store Embody, I attempted to make poses. It’s not as easy as some might believe. Creating poses that don’t break the avatar mesh, that have realistic physics and that are still all the things you want in a pose is a rather major challenge. Fortunately, there are people more talented than I who create poses for us to use!

Kick Up Your Heels

Finally, here’s a good closeup of the gorgeous new Laina skin from Adam n Eve. I wanted a close up that would show off the adorable dimples. I love dimples, but they are hard to do well in SL, it seems. This skin has a tattoo add on for them, and I think they’re perfect. Also, steal another look at that gorgeous necklace and earrings from Cae! My stunning eyes are part of the new Eternal line at IKON.
