Coming soon to a Fair(e) near you!

There are two events opening this weekend. One is Hair Fair, which celebrates it’s 10th AMAZING year of raising money for Wigs For Kids, with every transaction donating all or part of the proceeds (signs will tell you how much) to this fabulous charity. Ten years, guys. How incredibly awesome is that ? Hair Fair opens July 11th at 12 am SLT (give or take a few minutes). If you are anxious to demo without lag, or just get a head start on making your wish list, you can join the demo group to save all the demo goodness! I highly recommend that, as it helps speed things along and it’s just fun! It’s a great way to discover new stores, too.

Copy and paste the following into local chat and click the link to join the demo group: secondlife:///app/group/2e30d166-f3e5-e2de-ff72-b3da2d06ded2/about

You can find out more about Hair Fair, and get maps and slurls (once open) on the Hair Fair blog.

To learn more about Wigs For Kids, visit their website. Also, while at Hair Fair 2015, be sure to grab one of the amazing bandanas created for Bandana Day. Bandana Day is July 26th (also the final day of Hair Fair 2015), and for this day we honor the courage and strength of kids (and adults) fighting conditions that result in hair loss by donning a bandana. Bandana Day bandanas are created by SL residents and 100% of the proceeds go to Wigs For Kids. There are a lot of amazing, creative options (I can’t wait to show you the one I picked!), and they’re only L$50 a piece and for a great cause.

I am wearing one of Exile’s Hair Fair releases and my fellow blogger is wearing one of Elikatira’s. We’re also both wearing necklaces by Cae that will be available starting July 12th at this year’s Wizarding Faire. This event was one of my favorites ever when it debuted in 2013, so I’m truly thrilled it’s coming back. In fact, it inspired me to start reading the books again! And we’re both wearing outfits you can find at the current Rustic themed edition of Uber.

Summer Friends

It’s going to be a jam-packed weekend of awesome with both of these amazing events opening, so be sure you don’t miss out!

Descend Forever

I have been a big fan of Cae jewlery since the beginning. I think Caelan Hancroft does absolutely stunning work, and her latest releases are no exception. I wanted to share some with you.

In this first pic, I’m wearing the Descend set that came out last month. It’s very dramatic and bold, and I love the texture change, pave gems on this set. On my left hand I am wearing one of Cae’s new Forever wedding sets that is available as part of the Mingle event.

Descend Forever

If you haven’t heard of this event, Mingle is really, really cool. It’s an interactive HUD based hunt, and the creators did an amazing job with it. It’s really cute. There’s a gift shop, which is where you’ll find Forever (along with a lot of other gifts, which you can buy for yourself or gifting), but there are also free gifts when you complete the event! You can read more about Mingle here.

Now, for a better look at that rock I’m wearing. Well… rocks, to be fair. This is the three stone version of the ring (there is also a solitaire version). What I absolutely love is that you can customize not only the metal and gems, but also the style of the ring(s). Let’s start with the stone shapes. You can do princess cut, heart or round, and the center stone can differ from the two side stones (both in shape and color). The band of the engagement ring also has three options. I like sparkle, so I’m using the option for channel set gems. There are also plain and tapered versions. The wedding band can be hidden, or it can be channel set (as seen below) or plain. In the collage below I am showing off the princess and round cut stones. I also wanted to show you some of the color options.

Cae Forever @ Mingle gift shop

Finally, in this last picture I am wearing the Promise set (you can only really see the necklace). My skin is Kaelyn from Glam Affair, which really is one of my favorites ever of that brand (not that it’s easy to pick). My eyes are IKON’s Promise eyes in Metal, which is a very unique color that I love. The hair is Rowan, a recent Truth release. I happened to be wearing all of this for my BFF Rosa’s surprise rezz day party last week, and I loved the look so I decided a new profile pic was in order.

A hint of sass

Have a great weekend! More from me soon.

Pose Fair 2013 – Last Call!

Pose Fair 2013 ends on Sunday April 14th! Be sure to stop by before it ends because there are so many goodies to be had, all in one place!

Here are a few more of my favorites. First, from Hopscotch this adorable multipose prop. It comes in a version for regular avs, but I chose the one designed for petites, because it really does seem like the perfect little home for a tiny fairy! I took this pic at Chakryn Forest, one of my favorite sims that allows rezzing. It’s a sim that has a fantasy feel, so I knew it would be perfect for this shot. My petite av is from Al Vulo. Isn’t she cute? She was a gift from my dear friend Lyssa, and I think this is the first time I’ve blogged as a petite!

Dreams of the Fairy

Speaking of Lyssa, I recruited her for this next pic. I fell in love with this Art Dummy/Flowey collaboration for Pose Fair, A Story To Tell A Friend. I just had to have it. Lyssa & I are both wearing items from Collabor88’s April round, too. Check the credits for specific details on that! I took this pic in my cute little Funky Junk schoolhouse, and if you click through to the pic, I have put notes on the various decor items so you know where they are from. If you’d like to know more about any piece, just ask me in comments (here or on Flickr).

Girl Talk

My next pic features another of Hopscotch’s Pose Fair releases, from the Standing Pretty pack. I fell in love with this Magika hair. It’s edgy and sassy, and what can I say… I felt rebellious that night. So much so I even bought the dip dye or ombre or whatever the hell ya wanna call it pack of colors. This beautiful suede dress is from Blacklace, and I must admit, I felt pretty sexy wearing it. My jewelry is from Cae, which I thought added a touch of elegance to my rebellion.

Seeing Green

In the next pic, I’m using one of Adorkable’s Bam poses, also from Pose Fair. For the full body shot, I added my Angelique heels from Gos Boutique. Very sexy, and they definitely suited my mood. Oh, also… did you notice my hands? I finally bought a pair of SLink’s mesh hands. It took me a while because since I change skins so much, it’s a lot of tinting. And I hate tinting. But now Siddean, of SLink has released developer kits and lots of skin creators are making appliers for it, and there are now so many nail polish add ons, too.

Rebel with jewels

There are just so many great stores participating in the Pose Fair, and you definitely should check it out before it ends!

Sexual Healing… my 100th post!

Sexual Healing was the prompt for last week’s 50 Shades Of Sexy challenge! I had a bit of a struggle with this one, to be honest. Finally, I snagged (my alt) Mellie and well… there’s a story, so I’ll tell it.

Mellie is a lingerie model. She fell at work and scraped her knees. So, naturally, she needed to see the doctor. That would be me, btw. She was in tears, and her mascara was running. Her lovely face was smeared with it! She just looked so sad… see?

Scrapes & Scratches

Well, I couldn’t have that. I patched up her knees with some colorful bandaids, but she still seemed so sad. Something about “now my shoot is ruined.” Idk, I guess her photographer doesn’t have Photoshop cuz it seems to me it could easily be airbrushed out. At any rate, it just so happened that I’d spilled coffee all over myself earlier that morning (I am just such a klutz), and I’d sent out my suit to be dry cleaned before it stained. That meant that all I had on under my white coat was, well… white lace panties! So… I unbuttoned my lab coat for her, and did a little dance. She definitely seemed to be feeling better after that, but well, I am not quite sure this is the reaction I hoped for!

All Better

Still, my patient was in better spirits, and her prognosis is good (I predict no scarring from her little accident), so I suppose it was mission accomplished in the end!

~Lucie

PS. This was my 100th post! Thank you to all my friends who have encouraged me. Thank you to my readers! And mostly, thank you to the designers who have entrusted me to blog their hard work, and who inspire my blog with such beautiful creations!

Giving Thanks

I wanted to take a moment to write a Thanksgiving post. This one is going to be short, as our dinner’s nearly done… but I couldn’t let this day pass without acknowledging that I have many things to be thankful for as a blogger. First of all, I need to thank the beautiful, talented Rezipsa Luckstone, owner of RezIpsa Loc. I’m not sure if she has any idea how much she influenced me to start “formally” blogging when I did. See, Rezzie had added me to her blogger list. She told me it was because I was “awesome.” I was “microblogging” on Flickr, not even knowing “microblogging” was a thing. Rezzie’s faith in me really inspired me to branch out and begin this blog. So I have to be thankful for her, because without her, I’m not entirely sure I’d be here blogging today.

Next, I need to thank you. Yes, you right there reading this post. Blogs work because people read them. Honestly, I’d blog if I had no audience. I just love it. But I wouldn’t accomplish nearly as much without my readers’ support and encouragement. So thank you so much for taking the time to share in my shopping, writing and photography obsession. I appreciate it more than words could ever say.

There are people who think bloggers just want free stuff. I admit readily, the free stuff is nice. But trust me… most of my fellow bloggers, like myself, spend far more money in SL as bloggers than they did before they began blogging. That said, I am unbelievably grateful to every single designer who has ever given me something to blog. I can’t blog every thing I get. I just don’t have that kind of stamina, but I try to blog as much of it as possible. The confidence you show in my blogging when you share the creations you’ve put so much love, time and energy into making overwhelms and humbles me. I am honestly in awe of the talent that you all have, and I cannot express what it means to be entrusted with blogging your work.

I also have to thank all my fellow bloggers. The amount of talent in SL is mind boggling. So many of you are a daily inspiration to me.

Finally… I have to thank a few people. There are so many amazing people in my life, and I an thankful for each of you. That said, I wouldn’t be who I am today without the endless love and support of my husband Radagast Lexington. I would be a whole hell of a lot crazier without the encouragement and shoulder to cry on provided by my best friend – in either world – Rosalie Bouscario. And my Second Life would be so much emptier without the love, giggles and silliness of my SL sisters Isley Oodles and AliannaMarie GossipGirl.

So thank you all… whether or not today is a holiday where you live, I hope you are able to find love, support and encouragement like I have found in so many.

Without further ado… my pictures. Oh, and yes, I am aware it looks more like Christmas in my house than it does Thanksgiving. What can I say? I’m a sucker for Christmas decor!

In this first picture, to follow up with Pose Appreciation Week, I am holding this adorable turkey platter from Status Poses. This was part of November’s MySecond Box, and just way too cute to not use! My woodburning stove is festively green, and is a recent release from What Next. The kettle on it is from LISP.

Proud

The food you see on my table is the Thanksgiving Dinner from Rasassy Foods. It’s SO cute! My dining set is from What Next. It’s the Laurel Christmas set and it is (at least as of now) only on Marketplace. The cute sign in the background is from Art Dummy. The adorable turkey shirt I have layered over my fri.day turtleneck is, very appropriately, from RezIpsa Loc.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This round of The Black Market is soon coming to a close, and there are a lot of really cute goodies to be had. Here I’ll share some of my favorites, though there’s so much more to be seen, so definitely check it out yourself.

I fell in love with this autumn garden set from Cleo Designs. It’s so cute, and comes with so many goodies! The skirt I am wearing is from SAKIDE (it’s a For The Love Of group gift!), and it’s very dramatic, don’t you think? The sexy belly ring is from Ziau. I loved this cosmos top from Iren. All of these items are currently available at The Black Market.

Black Market September

This second look also features SAKIDE, and this is a TBM exclusive item. I thought this top and shorts set was really cute, paired it with some stockings and threw on these boots that Loordes of London has to offer at TBM this round. The adorable light is a prop pose item from Co*Motions, and also at TBM.

Night Light

This skin is Georgie from Al Vulo and it’s so pretty and dramatic, I had to take a closeup shot. Plus, I needed to show off this really sexy hair that was a recent group gift from Truth. If you’re in the subscriber list and didn’t get it, or aren’t yet on the list, go touch the subscriber kiosk in the mainstore, as he usually leaves his gifts in there until new notices replace the old. You get all the colors and I find something so utterly appealing about this almost boyish style on a woman! Both this pic, and the last one, were taken on the Water Reserve sim, which I’ve come to love so much that I should just move in there (and don’t think I haven’t threatened to do just that to Meme)!

Lost in a dream world

As I took both these picks prior to September 30th, they definitely don’t violate the rules of the RYCC! However, I’m not using them in an official capacity because they are from before October began. 😉

The Arcade SL

You’d pretty much have to be living under a rock in SL to not have heard about The Arcade by now… this gacha festival has been one of the more popular SL events in recent memory. Even a full week after opening, I still had trouble tping in, as the region was full! I’ve shared a few pieces from this event in various recent posts, but this is my first dedicated to the event. There is really just so much awesomeness to be had at this event, so be sure to check it out. They’ve even created a handy shoppers guide, which you can check out here.

I must start off this post with the adorable Beetlebones hamster avatar that has been all over Flickr. I was lucky enough to get the fawn one from a friend. I decided to wear my Auxiliary ears, because, well… just so much cute! I curled up on my stuffed giraffe from NiNight Creations and we chatted about our day.

Tell me about your day

Because there’s just so much great stuff to be had, I decided to try my hand at a collage style pic. In this pic you can see my items from Floorplan… the cubby and the clock. On top of the cubby is my Survivor piggy bank from Sway’s. Some might find the white one boring, but I liked her! The adorable ironing board and the piles of clothing are from LISP. The clothes self rezz when you pic a pose. The basket of laundry is also one of the items from LISP, as is the cute rug you can just catch a glimpse of in the ironing shot. The two cameo style pieces on the cubby are the packaging from the Noodles fairytale necklaces. They are so cute, and you can mod them… and as adorable as the necklaces are, I think I’m a bit like a toddler on these. I like the packaging even better! You can use them to decorate, and how fun is that! My mesh robe is from Stickfigure Home… and it’s cozy and perfect for laundry day, don’t you think?

The Arcade

Glam Affair has some really fun skins at The Arcade, and I got 07… which is sort of vampire pale and very goth. And so very not my usual look, but it’s just stunning. I decided to depart from my usual red hair for a special occasion and paired the skin with the new Stevie hair from Truth in Raven. My eyes are from the new Kaleido series by IKON, and they’re really cool.

Roza 07 - The Arcade

I love this mesh tank from Mon Cheri’s gacha, and I paired it with a skirt I snagged during the recent sale at Evolve. I love my Gos Triumph boots, and I knew they’d compliment the look just perfectly.

Edgy Arcade

I will likely have another post of things from The Arcade. The event runs through October 15th, so there’s still time to check it out!

A Hearty Harvest…

It was a brisk autumn morning, and I had a busy day ahead of me. I knew I’d need a good breakfast to keep me going, so I fried up some eggs and bacon, toasted some bread and steamed some milk for hot cocoa. I had already finished my eggs, but my husband was no place to be seen for his… and I have to admit, they smelled good enough that I considered eating his share, too! Instead, I sat and drank my cocoa. I was wearing my quirky and adorable Sunday Breakfast dress from Zanzibar CreationZ, but even with the wood stove burning, I was a touch cold, so I tossed on my Carolina jacket from e! to stave off the chill. And, so maybe I cheated a bit on the breakfast and had it catered by Rassasy Foods… shhh. Don’t tell Rad on me!

Breakfast

I spent the day decorating, and getting things right for my Harvest Party. However, with my eldest daughter usually off at Hogwarts, I didn’t want to miss the rare opportunity for some bonding time. So, we went out onto the patio (which I built myself, well, sorta… and yeah, I’m actually dorky enough to be proud of that one prim I didn’t even texture). Ashlan was thrilled when I used a bit of magic to light us a fire. Sitting in our comfy What Next Autumn Porch chairs, in the glow of the embers, as the fire crackled away, we sipped on yet more cocoa… and we weren’t cold at all! It helped that Ash was dressed for the weather in her Tres Blah sweater dress and Sn@tch tights!

Fireside bonding

Alas, all good things must end, and Ash used the Floo Network to return to school… while I changed into festive – yet comfy – party attire. I had snagged my cute top from ISON at The Arcade, along with this collar from Piddle. The skirt is Elena from Sn@tch… I love the silvery threads woven through it. My adorable shoes are another Arcade find, one my friend Cami was kind enough to share when she got an extra. These Ariane shoes from Ingenue are one of the “rares” you can win – if you’re lucky. My autumn decor is from What Next. I loved this Pumpkin Party Cooler set. It dispenses drinks, and it’s oh-so-adorable. Definitely put me in the party mood, which is rare! Also, for those who prefer their harvest drinks warm and non-alcoholic, I naturally had to make the Pumpkin Spice Lattes on this tray… you can get the recipe from the What Next Autumn Frames set, and it’s so cute that you’ll also want to hang it up to share with all! And because I’m a chocoholic, there was also more cocoa on hand!

Harvest Party

Though nervous, I think I managed to pull off my role as hostess rather nicely. My buffet table from La’Lalicious was the perfect place for all my party accouterments, along with this adorable scale that What Next has to offer from Zodiac this round (and I believe the scales are exclusive to the event). My hair got a bit messy, as you can see, but I think it worked with the boho chic look I’d put together.

Cocoa anyone?

I like to think a fun time was had by all… and I’m looking forward to my holiday party! I definitely plan to get that catered, too. 😉

Going Baroque @ Collabor88!

I couldn’t resist the truly horrible pun that is my title, but I did go a little crazy at this HUGE Baroque themed, anniversary edition of Collabor88. You still have time to go by and grab so many great items… including an adorable special edition KittyCats kitten. The popularity of KittyCatS actually made this round rather hard to get into early in the month, so if you tried and got frustrated, make sure to go back before it’s over!

I have two looks to share with you… this first one is a bit edgier than my normal look, but it was a ton of fun to create! I loved the mesh leather pants from Tres Blah right away, and I decided they’d be a great match to the sexy mesh tank from Auxiliary. The shoes are from ISON, and I just loved them, too. I added the owl necklace from Maxi Gossamer and this sassy, funky hair from Ploom, and voila, a look was born.

Collabor88

I was wearing Estella – one of my beloved skins from Izzie’s – and I paired it with Izzie’s goth eyeliner, and I just had to show off my metallic gradient nails, which also come from Izzie’s. You can also get a better look at the adorable owl necklace from Maxi Gossamer. I’m wearing it in silver, but it comes with gold, too. Also, this is the short version, but a long version (in both silver and gold) is included.

Edge

My second look was inspired by the Thrive hair from Elikatira. It’s so glamorous… and I know I’m hardly the first to say so, but it conjures up images of Jessica Rabbit. I find that the Elikatira reds aren’t quite as dark as I like my hair, but despite being mesh, this hair can be tinted. So, mine is a tinted version of Red 08. I knew when I saw this dress from Valentina E. Couture that the Thrive hair would compliment it perfectly.

Baroque I tossed on the SLink peep toe shoes I got from Vintage Fair to complete the look.

Baroque

For this look, I went with my Elena skin, again from Izzie’s (I might be addicted to her skins). I also decided to forgo jewelry or accessories, as I felt the dress and hair required no embellishments. However, this dress does come with a cute headpiece… I just didn’t want to hide this hair. It’s so sleek and sophisticated.

To see the overview of fabulousness that is this round of Collabor88, check out the post from Seraphim. Be sure to hurry, though… the September round opens on the 8th. I, for one, can’t wait to see what the next edition brings!
