A Hearty Harvest…

It was a brisk autumn morning, and I had a busy day ahead of me. I knew I’d need a good breakfast to keep me going, so I fried up some eggs and bacon, toasted some bread and steamed some milk for hot cocoa. I had already finished my eggs, but my husband was no place to be seen for his… and I have to admit, they smelled good enough that I considered eating his share, too! Instead, I sat and drank my cocoa. I was wearing my quirky and adorable Sunday Breakfast dress from Zanzibar CreationZ, but even with the wood stove burning, I was a touch cold, so I tossed on my Carolina jacket from e! to stave off the chill. And, so maybe I cheated a bit on the breakfast and had it catered by Rassasy Foods… shhh. Don’t tell Rad on me!

I spent the day decorating, and getting things right for my Harvest Party. However, with my eldest daughter usually off at Hogwarts, I didn’t want to miss the rare opportunity for some bonding time. So, we went out onto the patio (which I built myself, well, sorta… and yeah, I’m actually dorky enough to be proud of that one prim I didn’t even texture). Ashlan was thrilled when I used a bit of magic to light us a fire. Sitting in our comfy What Next Autumn Porch chairs, in the glow of the embers, as the fire crackled away, we sipped on yet more cocoa… and we weren’t cold at all! It helped that Ash was dressed for the weather in her Tres Blah sweater dress and Sn@tch tights!

Fireside bonding

Alas, all good things must end, and Ash used the Floo Network to return to school… while I changed into festive – yet comfy – party attire. I had snagged my cute top from ISON at The Arcade, along with this collar from Piddle. The skirt is Elena from Sn@tch… I love the silvery threads woven through it. My adorable shoes are another Arcade find, one my friend Cami was kind enough to share when she got an extra. These Ariane shoes from Ingenue are one of the “rares” you can win – if you’re lucky. My autumn decor is from What Next. I loved this Pumpkin Party Cooler set. It dispenses drinks, and it’s oh-so-adorable. Definitely put me in the party mood, which is rare! Also, for those who prefer their harvest drinks warm and non-alcoholic, I naturally had to make the Pumpkin Spice Lattes on this tray… you can get the recipe from the What Next Autumn Frames set, and it’s so cute that you’ll also want to hang it up to share with all! And because I’m a chocoholic, there was also more cocoa on hand!

Harvest Party

Though nervous, I think I managed to pull off my role as hostess rather nicely. My buffet table from La’Lalicious was the perfect place for all my party accouterments, along with this adorable scale that What Next has to offer from Zodiac this round (and I believe the scales are exclusive to the event). My hair got a bit messy, as you can see, but I think it worked with the boho chic look I’d put together.

Cocoa anyone?

I like to think a fun time was had by all… and I’m looking forward to my holiday party! I definitely plan to get that catered, too. πŸ˜‰

Going Baroque @ Collabor88!

I couldn’t resist the truly horrible pun that is my title, but I did go a little crazy at this HUGE Baroque themed, anniversary edition of Collabor88. You still have time to go by and grab so many great items… including an adorable special edition KittyCats kitten. The popularity of KittyCatS actually made this round rather hard to get into early in the month, so if you tried and got frustrated, make sure to go back before it’s over!

I have two looks to share with you… this first one is a bit edgier than my normal look, but it was a ton of fun to create! I loved the mesh leather pants from Tres Blah right away, and I decided they’d be a great match to the sexy mesh tank from Auxiliary. The shoes are from ISON, and I just loved them, too. I added the owl necklace from Maxi Gossamer and this sassy, funky hair from Ploom, and voila, a look was born.

I was wearing Estella – one of my beloved skins from Izzie’s – and I paired it with Izzie’s goth eyeliner, and I just had to show off my metallic gradient nails, which also come from Izzie’s. You can also get a better look at the adorable owl necklace from Maxi Gossamer. I’m wearing it in silver, but it comes with gold, too. Also, this is the short version, but a long version (in both silver and gold) is included.

My second look was inspired by the Thrive hair from Elikatira. It’s so glamorous… and I know I’m hardly the first to say so, but it conjures up images of Jessica Rabbit. I find that the Elikatira reds aren’t quite as dark as I like my hair, but despite being mesh, this hair can be tinted. So, mine is a tinted version of Red 08. I knew when I saw this dress from Valentina E. Couture that the Thrive hair would compliment it perfectly.

Baroque I tossed on the SLink peep toe shoes I got from Vintage Fair to complete the look.

For this look, I went with my Elena skin, again from Izzie’s (I might be addicted to her skins). I also decided to forgo jewelry or accessories, as I felt the dress and hair required no embellishments. However, this dress does come with a cute headpiece… I just didn’t want to hide this hair. It’s so sleek and sophisticated.

Vintage Bride & Retro Swimsuit Model!

One of the things I love about being a blogger and getting to preview events like Vintage Fair is that I am discovering items from stores I wouldn’t otherwise have been likely to check out. This gorgeous mesh gown – a 20s inspired wedding gown, to be exact – is one such creation. The poses are from MotionLess Poses, also part of Vintage Fair.

Vintage Bride

Burst of red

The bridal headband also includes an option without a veil. This is a gown that could definitely be worn for other formal events, and not just as a wedding dress. This absolutely stunning Jaci skin from Aeva//Heartsick was a perfect match for this gown, and it is also available at the Vintage Fair. I’ve always admired the work of Amesha Jewell, and I think she’s really outdone herself with her Vintage Fair skins!

Aeva (Heartsick)

Another incredibly gorgeous skin from Aeva//Heartsick is Phoebe. This makeup option – like all the Vintage Fair skins from Aeva//Heartsick – is exclusive to this event, so if you like any of these, be sure to grab them during the event. Once it’s over, the full lines of these new faces will be released, but not these makeups! I wore the version with freckles for this second look. I kept thinking this skin reminded me of someone famous, and eventually I figured out that the version with freckles made me think of a young Lara Flynn Boyle. I decided to use this skin for my retro swimsuit model look. The poses are from Status Poses and are also Vintage Fair items, as is the simply adorable swimsuit from Sleeping Koala.

Retro Swimsuit Model

The hair in this look is from Alice Project, and it’s actually the very first mesh hair I ever bought. It’s not a Vintage Fair item, but it fit the look so perfectly you’d think otherwise!

Pinup Girl

That’s all for now… more soon. My internet is being a brat (to say the least), so I’m cranking these out as fast as I can.

Unmellow Yellow

The color for this week’s 52 Weeks of Color challenge was “unmellow yellow.” I don’t own a lot of yellow. I’m sort of fussy about the color. There simply aren’t a lot of yellow shades I like, and generally I prefer the softer colors. Despite being called “unmellow,” I found this color to be one of the more gentle yellows.

I claimed these boots as part of my prize for coming in second in the recent Truth District style contest. They are from Miel, and I knew I had to have them when I saw them. They are a perfect match for this adorable hair from Elikatira.

I took these pics at T Town… it’s such a perfect sim for this look, and it’s definitely a place worth exploring.

The Golden Peen Of Glory…

Okay, so initially I was only vaguely aware of the gift that the lovely Strawberry Singh had sent to the sweet Harlow Heslop. But the my dear friend (and fellow Venutian chicken creature lover) Lindsay showed me sneak peeks of her challenge pics that this gift had inspired. And thus, my desire to partake in Harlow’s Golden Peen contest was born. But I can’t do these sorts of things without a great deal of thought and (I like to think) creativity, so here is the “story” of the Golden Peen of Glory.

Rosalie Bouscario and I were walking on a beach. It was a lovely day… the weather was perfect. I was wearing my cute pink halter bikini from Sleeping Koala, and she had on her skimpy Hyper Culture bikini from days long past (she’s just bragging about how she can still wear it, tbh). We looked as hot as we felt in the summer sun. So, we wandered to the water’s edge, with every intention of taking a dip to cool off. Suddenly, we saw a giant, glowing, golden silhouette. We couldn’t quite make out what it was, so we wandered closer. Much to our amazement, it was a giant golden penis!

Baffled, but oddly enchanted we felt compelled to bow before it in worship. After all, this must be a gift from the gods. Maybe a sex god… but I digress. We felt it was only proper to show respect to the Golden Peen of Glory. We took our positions before its shimmering lust inspiring sparkle and I captured the moment forever in this picture.

Golden Peen Contest

But I was too enchanted. I wanted too much, too deeply. I sneaked back to the beach after Rosa had logged for the night. I took the Golden Peen of Glory home (lemme tell ya, carrying that thing wasn’t easy… thank the gods for TPs). We bonded over popcorn. Yes, I said popcorn. I sat it down on my adorable Cheeky Pea sofa, and we snuggled. We became very close that night. It was truly special…

Golden Peen Contest

And then Rosa surreptitiously came back online and popped in for a visit… and caught me in the act (of sharing popcorn, you pervs!). I was horrified and deeply ashamed. But really, what girl could resist the urge to better know this gift of the gods? Can you blame me?

Golden Peen Contest

But Rosa convinced me that a Golden Peen of Glory is not meant to be kept captive… so I returned it to the sea, and with a prayer of thanks to the gods that had blessed us with such a miracle, said goodbye. It was a sad moment, but I understand that this is one golden phallus that I just can’t keep (erm, not that I’ve ever kept a gold phallus or anything like that).

Golden Peen Contest

So long, my glittering friend… I will miss your shiny, sexy siren’s song.

PS. The facts of this story may be slightly exaggerated and altered for the sake of entertainment. No penises were harmed in the making of this blog post. Also, you can get your own full perms, Golden Peen of Glory here for just L$15!

Home & Garden Expo 2

Hello out there… I have another set of pics of things I picked up at the Home & Garden Expo. This time I am featuring two of my favorite SL stores… Cheeky Pea & Funky Junk.

Funky Junk had out this adorable outdoor set called Sweet Summer as one of the charity items. I snagged it right away. Hey, a good cause means less shopping guilt, right? And… good cause and all. To be honest, my grandmother is undergoing chemo right now for a rare form of lung cancer, so helping the RFL events financially or through blogging makes me feel like I’m doing something. This set is just so adorable, and it screamed “bikini time!” So, I threw on one of my Cool Beans “Bean-Kinis” and got posing. Alas, Cool Beans has closed, but Anyalia Pearl is working on a new store called Spright, so keep your eyes out for more adorableness from the oh-so-adorable Anya. She has a crazy cute dress out at Culture Shock that you’ve likely seen because everyone and their mommas’ been blogging it! And soon I will be, too. πŸ˜€ Now… less babbling, more pictures.

Funky Junk H & G Expo

Cheeky Pea has a ton of cuteness out at the H & G Expo… I wish I had room for big houses because there are so many cute ones, from Cheeky Pea to Funky Junk and many, many others. However, I only have a small sky platform over our store, so I have to work with that space. But I did pick up this adorable Fairfield desk set! It just seemed perfect for sitting down at as I work on my blog!

Cheeky Pea H & G Expo

I have more things to blog… but I’ve been under the weather, so it’s been slow going. However, you will get to see my 52 Weeks of Color post tomorrow or later today… and I’m doing Harlow Heslop’s Golden Peen blog challenge. Yeah, it’s what it sounds like. Sorta. πŸ˜›

Collabor88 May

I promised this post last week, and the pics were up on flickr, but we went on vacation and I just haven’t had a chance! I’ve also been spending time at the Home & Garden Expo this weekend… blogs on that to come later this week! So now, without further ado, Collabor88 for May.

I love reading. I love tea. Put them together, and I’m in heaven. So I just HAD to have this Cheeky Pea hammock. My skirt is from Hucci, and the top is from the Sea Hole. All are from this edition of Collabor88.

Minty Fresh - Collabor88

It’s just so darn cute… the poses are adorable and as always, the detail from Cheeky Pea is exquisite.

After I spent a lazy afternoon reading and sipping tea, I primped for the camera to show off my new skin from Izzie’s. I saw this skin on someone’s flickr stream and just fell hard for it. I’m so impressed with how far Izzie Button has come with her skins. I once tried to make a skin. To say it went badly is a massive understatement. There’s plenty in SL to be impressed by, but I’m not sure anything impresses me quite the same way a talented skin creator does!

New Skin from Izzie's

The necklace is from Collabor88 by League. There are several variations on it, and it’s a great bargain. Also, one version has a moving sky! It’s really cool. I’m crazy about it!

More soon… have a great week. πŸ™‚
