For Aeva Heartsick

One of the things I love about Second Life is seeing how it can be a real community, one that comes together to help one of its members. The For Aeva Heartsick event is one of these times. Amesha Jewell, the owner of Aeva/Heartsick and an incredibly talented designer, relies on her computer for her RL income. Specifically, she relies on SL earnings. Unfortunately, her computer finally died. Amesha’s been making a very long commute to her parents’ home as needed in order to get some work done, but friends wanted to help her out and organized a fundraiser to help offset, if not cover, the costs of replacing her computer. You can read more about the event here. There’s a wide variety of offerings to be had, and here I am featuring just a few of my favorites.

First, this new skin from Aeva highlights Amesha’s talents so perfectly. It also shows her dedication, given she did this work at her parents’ home so she could offer something at the fundraiser herself. Lyric has amazing eyes, don’t you think? There are other skins available, too, including some fantasy skins. Each skin is only L$100 and includes appliers for Puffy, Lolas and Lush breasts. Also, an added bonus… there are mesh feet in each skin box! So, if you’ve wanted some prettier feet but not wanted to spend the L on them, this is a great way to get a pair that match the skin exactly. The lipstick I have on is an add-on from Aeva and you get multiple colors for just L$75. I am wearing a necklace from Collisions that is also available at the FAH event. My beautiful ring is Cae’s Alchemy ring (at the birthday round of FaMESHed). Like all of Cae’s jewelry it has multiple gem and metal options, which I love.

Lyric (Aeva Skin)

When I saw this new hair from LoQ, I knew I wanted it. I love how summery it feels. Somehow it manages to be both messy and elegant at the same time! My dress is from Sakide, and is another FAH item. It comes in three color choices, but the black and white was my favorite. I paired it with my Gos Boutique espadrilles and felt the look was complete.

For Aeva Heartsick Event

This is a lovely event designed to help a fellow SLer who happens to be an absolute sweetheart and an incredible talent. So, why not hop over and have a look? Maybe you’ll find something a “must have” item and help a member of our community at the same time! The event runs through May 14th, so be sure to check it out before it’s over!

More from Skin Fair!

If you haven’t been to Skin Fair yet, you still have time! The even runs through March 31st, so be sure to get there before it closes. Today I have two skins available at Skin Fair to show you. One thing I love about blogging events like Skin Fair is the chance to discover great stores I didn’t know before the event. I wasn’t familiar with either of these stores, but I will definitely be checking them out regularly now!

First up, from Anymore, is Hazel. This skin is so pretty and soft. It has a youthful feel, and I decided to capitalize on that with a quirky, semi-dorky look. My glasses are from Mon Tissu. The gorgeous necklace is from Cae and is called Sakura. It’s currently available at a new event called The Boutique, brought to you by The Liaison Collaborative. The eyes I am wearing in both of these looks are also a new item, from IKON, at The Boutique. Also, if you’re curious about the decor items, they are tagged with notes if you click through to Flickr, and you can feel free to ask questions.

Anymore Dorky

I paired the skin with hair from Exile, the adorable saddle shoes Tres Blah has out at Collabor88. A lot of people have complained the Tres Blah shoes were too expensive. I have to admit I hesitated when I saw the L$388 price tag on them, but I am a sucker for saddle shoes and these are so cute and unique. They are well done, and I am likely going to go back and grab another pair. No, they aren’t “cheap,” but the quality and creativity is very high, and that counts for a lot for me. My pants are from Greymoon and were available at The Outlet. I’m not sure if that round is over, but if it is, Lyssa usually releases her items in her mainstore after, so either way look for them! My top is so cute, right? It’s from One Bad Pixel’s recent release, and I am in love. It has a hud that lets you change the color of the belt and the shirt that’s under the sweater (just to clarify, it’s all one piece – you can’t wear just the sweater or just the shirt). I’m a sucker for any item that has this sort of control. It makes a piece so much more versatile and an “investment.” Oh, the cute pose in this pic is from Grafica and is part of their Pose Fair release called per donna! I’m excited for Pose Fair!

Anymore

The second skin I want to show you is from Envious. Bella is appropriately beautiful. I love the purple eyeshadow on this one. I love purple. The blushing cheeks on this skin inspired me to blog it as a bride! Plus, I’ll use any excuse to marry Rad again, even if it’s just for pics. 😀 The gorgeous gown I have on is from Sakide. The dress is mesh, but the lacey, sheer top part is a jacket layer you wear under it. The dress works without it, too. But I loved the look, it was so soft and detailed. I felt utterly feminine and girly wearing this gown!

Bridal fantasies

The gown has a secret, seductive side, though… and I had to be sure to show you that, too.

Now and forever

Finally, in this last pic you can see the LaGyo headband I have on with the alternate veiled option. It felt so retro and mysterious, so I knew I had to use it. I will warn you that I had some trouble finding hair that worked, and only came up with this LeLutka option after I saw the lovely Oakley Foxtrot wearing it with the same headband (so ty Oakley!).

I take thee

And last… I have to share this one, even though for blogging purposes you can’t really see anything. I just loved this WL so much, I had to snap the drama shot, too.

You are my dream

What can I say? Our RL/SL wedding anniversary is coming up (April 6th in both worlds)… I guess I was feeling sappy!

More Skin Fair Previews!

I have two more Skin Fair 2013 previews for you. First up is the gorgeous, glamorous new skin from Izzie’s. Asia comes in multiple gorgeous tones, and it was hard for me to decide which I wanted to feature. Ultimately I went with the one designed for gingers! I’m not usually a “ginger,” as my preferred shade is more of a blood red (in the case of Truth, that’s even the name of my shade!). But I’ve loved the Pumpkinpie shade from Truth’s Fades pack since he debuted the Fades, and rarely have a reason to wear it. So, Ginger Lucie makes an appearance below!

I wanted to play up the glamour of this skin. Like all Izzie’s skins, you get a ton of eye shadow and lip options, and Asia also comes with funky, dramatic eyeliner choices. I am wearing the Brown lipstick and eye shadow options. Sometime last year I bought this sexy shorts romper from Hucci when it was at Collabor88. I’ll be honest, it shows more skin than I usually do, and I haven’t worn it, except in an Embody ad, since I bought it. But it struck me as perfect for showing off the gorgeous new Bejeweled jewelry set from Cae, which is now available at FaMESHed. Like all the sets from Cae, this one is texture change. Both the jewels and metal have multiple options, but I went with silver & emeralds. What’s really cool about this necklace, though, is that you also have the option of hiding some of the chains, so it’s really versatile. I feel like royalty or a celebrity wearing this set!

Dripping In Emeralds

Here’s a close up of the gorgeous Asia… so, so pretty. Soft, as is the hallmark of all Izzie’s skins, but also elegant and sophisticated. Still, if you wear it “bare,” without makeup add ons, it’s also fresh and casual. If you like your skins versatile, definitely check out this one (or any of Izzie’s skins!).

Izzie's - Asia - Skin Fair Preview

Next up… I knew the talented London Dailey of Pink Outfitters and The House of London made gorgeous clothes, but I didn’t realize she made skins, too! So when I saw her new Fresh FX Chanel, I knew I needed to try it. I love, love, love the unique shape of the lips on this skin. I went for one with dramatic, smokey eye makeup. I’d been struggling to figure out what hair to wear, but Truth saved the day by releasing Teddy just in time. Love the glamorous, messy, bedhead look of this style!

Fresh FX - Chanel for Skin Fair

To show you just how talented London is, here’s her Elle dress for FaMESHed this month! I paired it with the Plum Patent Marilyn sandals from Gos Boutique. I’ll admit, I might’ve used the hint of purple in this dress as an excuse to buy purple shoes, but really, can you blame me? Also, let me just say this… I love side boob. Cleavage is great, and it certainly is sexy, but it’s so much more expected. The high neckline and open back of this dress, with the hint of side boob just screams “elegantly sexy” to me. On a final note, pictures do not do the details of this dress justice, so definitely go demo it at FaMESHed for yourself.

Prissy In Pink

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m still recovering from a nasty bout of bronchitis… but I didn’t want to let today go by without say I hope you all have a lovely ❤ Day.

My adorable look inspired the title Prissy In Pink. The skin, a Valentine's Day special from Aeva, is so deliciously pouty. When I added the hair – Tenille – from Truth's last release, with it's poufy bow and the corset dress from Greymoon with its polka dots, I just felt so girly. This dress will be out in Greymoon's mainstore in a couple of days, and it's hud controlled with multiple texture options! I'm not usually big on pink… but I get in moods once in a while, and this one just happened to be rather well timed! It also gave me the chance to use the pink shade of my Grace sandals from Gos Boutique! Oh, and btw… for those who don't like hair bows, Tenille comes with an alternate version sans bow!

Prissy In Pink

Now for a closeup of Selene. This skin is just so lovely. I consider one of the Aeva//Heartsick trademarks to be how utterly soft Amesha Jewell’s skins look. The Sweetheart makeup, special for Valentine’s Day, is ultra feminine, and there’s a quiet maturity to this skin for those who prefer to look a bit older. My eyes are from IKON’s Eternal line. The shade is called Mesa, and I liked the hint of an almost pinkish brown that this color has to it. I’m kind of obsessed with this line of eyes. I’m incredibly fussy about how eyes look in SL, and I have to confess I don’t like most eyes. I’ve been addicted to IKON eyes since last spring, and that addiction doesn’t seem to be waning at all. Oh, also… check out this adorable necklace from Collisions! It’s called Forever Infinite and it’s so pretty, and yet it’s not overly feminine. It’s designed to be unisex.

Lots of hugs to all…

The Forgotten

So, back at the beginning of this month I did some pics for a New Year’s blog. Then I got distracted. Oops. I do that sometimes. Also, can you believe January is nearly over already?

I got my husband to pose with me for a blog pic. He’s reclusive, so this was a special treat. It was actually taken on New Year’s Eve. I have to be honest… it feels like it was far longer than a month ago! My dress is from NiNight Creations. It comes in tons of color options and it’s just so pretty. The detail work on this is spectacular. Rad’s suit is from Fatewear. Behind us you see the cute decor What Next did to ring in the New Year, placed on my Laurel fireplace (also from What Next).

2013

I also grabbed my BFF Rosa for a photo shoot to celebrate the end of 2012 and the start of 2013. This photo box called, appropriately, Countdown was from the December round of My Attic and is by W. Winx. It’s seriously fun. I am not sure if it was an event exclusive, but since it doesn’t have just 2013 on it, it’s something that I know I can use again this New Year’s Eve! Rosa & I are wearing dresses from SySy’s and hair from Exile.

Let the countdown begin

Rosa’s skin is Halo, from Aeva. It’s such a soft and pretty skin, and it suits Rosa so nicely.

My Best Friend

My skin is Lana from Glance. I fell in love with the uniqueness of this skin. It wasn’t quite like any skin I’d seen in SL. I especially love the heavy lidded eyes. They are sleepy and sexy. My necklace is from Maxi Gossamer. I thought a necklace that featured a clock pendant was appropriate for a New Year’s look.

Celebrate

So, there you have it… my New Year’s blog post. It’s still January, so I think it’s in under the wire. Okay, maybe not. But these things were just too awesome to not blog.

Cold Winter Nights Hunt

I have to be honest. Hunting in SL has always made me a little crazy. I think I lack the patience for it. For that reason, it takes a special hunt to make me decide to give it a go. Trust me, even for reluctant hunters like myself, the Cold Winter Nights hunt is one worth the effort! I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek at the items available, and some of them will be featured in this post (with more to come soon). The hunt begins tomorrow, and to see more about it, check out the hunt blog and the GoofNutz blog. The hunt begins on January 15th and runs through February 15th, so there’s plenty of time to grab all the goodies!

There are a lot of cute buildings available in this hunt. One that I especially love is this frostwoods skybox from vespertine. It’s land impact is only 7. It’s one small room, but I also like that the skybox has real windows to let in light. Skyboxes without windows make me feel claustrophobic (yeah, I’m weird). It’s great for those who have limited prims but want a space to call home! I took the picture below in this little home. I decorated with a mix and match of other hunt gifts. The couch, coffee table and candles are part of a gorgeous set from Cleo Designs. The couch is texture change, too. The birds on the table and the pretty cabinet are part of the Strawberry Box set. My big cozy sweater is from !gO! and also is a hunt offering. I tossed on some Jane fuzzy leggings and my Maitreya slouchy socks to complete the cozy, comfy look. The pose I chose from the sofa is called “o my head.”

Cold Winter Nights Hunt

So, I chose the above pose because it suited the skin I’m wearing from Oceane Body Design. It’s very cute, and called Milla Has A Cold… and yep, it’s also a hunt gift. I wanted to give you a better look, so I took another pic of it to show it off. I’m also showing off this adorable hair from Wasabi Pills called Claire. I am wearing Rouge, but as I usually do with WP hair, it’s tinted a bit. It’s my Hair Today Day 9 (yep, even though Day 8 isn’t blogged yet… I’m such a rebel that way). I’m still playing catch up, but I’ll get there! The stunning eyes I’m wearing are Tundra from IKON’s Eternal series.

HTGT Day 9

So, be sure to check out this hunt when it begins tomorrow. It’s definitely going to be one worth taking the time to complete!

~Lucie

HTGT Day 4

So, I changed the pose for this pic because I also changed the jewelry in order to show off this stunning set from Cae. Guinevere is coming soon to the new round of Collabor88, so be sure to check it out. This pose is Embody’s Elle 3.

The hair for today is also a new Truth release, January. This is one of those fabulous, elegant updos that are great for showing of jewelry. My color is blood w/roots. Skin credits are the same as my default. Oh, and I got my ancient copy of Fireworks installed and YAY it works on Windows 8. I was worried about that, given how old it is! But now I can edit more properly again, which makes me happy. My OCD doesn’t like to post totally raw shots.

HTGT Day 4

More from me tomorrow!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

I decided that since I have so much hair in SL, I should really try a challenge. So, the Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow challenge was born. My goal is to do one very simple post every day. To help keep it easy, I have selected a default look, which includes the outfit, skin, eyes, etc. You can get all the details on this challenge on the page I created for it. Those details include the credits for everything I am wearing in the picture below… except, of course, the hair.

Today’s hair is a fairly recent release from Truth. I fell in love with this style immediately. It’s called Bianca, and it’s one of those I consider a “must have” because it’s so versatile. It could easily be worn casually or dressed up. I am wearing Bianca in Blood w/roots. I like the roots styles, as I feel they add a bit of depth to the hair.

HTGT Day 1: Bianca

Remember, for all the details other than hair, check the HTGT page. You can use the link in this post, or find it in the menu on my home page!

Happy New Year!!!
