Sweet Tart

It’s been a hectic, crazy few weeks in my RL, which is why I have been quiet. We’re getting ready to travel to visit family later this week. I’m really excited to see my four year-old nephew. He’s literally counting down the days til our visit. I’m riding that excitement to get through this visit because, if I’m honest, the traveling will be physically brutal (air travel and my body aren’t friends), and the rest of the family stuff is just stressing me out!

But I can put all that aside for now to show you some sweet treats! The Theme Park’s Sweet Tart Edition is under way, and Embody has this cute, flirty couple prop pose for women. I am wearing a dress from u.f.o for Collabor88, along with the gorgeous new Coral skin from Glam Affair that debuted at Collab. My cute shoes are also at Collab, from fri.day. My partner in crime (aka my alt) is wearing new items from coldLogic and the recent Gos Boutique group gift heels.

Sugar Rush

Be sure to stop by The Theme Park and Collabor88 to check out all of the goodies. There’s a lot of cute to be had at both events!

The Theme Park: Vintage Romance

Over two years ago, before I was a blogger and before I owned Lazy Sunday, my husband and I owned an event called The Theme Park. It was a fun event, and one we enjoyed running. But then I was supposed to student teach, and I expected to barely be in SL for at least twelve weeks. So, with a bit of a heavy heart, we closed the event. Well, after some deliberation and discussion, we decided to resurrect and re-invent The Theme Park. It has just opened, and will run through February 5th. Our first theme is Vintage Romance.

I am really excited about this, as you may imagine. We have some unbelievably talented designers participating, and I’m going to share some of the creations you can find at the event in this post (and in future posts).

Sari-Sari is a store I discovered through another event, The Neighbourhood. I just love this store. They make a mix of poses and furniture/decor items. For The Theme Park, they did both, but in this post I am showing you their Antique Dresser. I love everything about this piece. It’s romantic, sweet and definitely feels antique. I did very little editing to this picture, in order to show the piece off better. All the items on the top of the dresser are part of this piece.

Sari-Sari for The Theme Park

Next, I want to show you the gorgeous Vintage Romance dress Coquet has for The Theme Park. I have been gushing about this dress to anyone willing to listen since I first put it on. Here’s why… the texture work on this is absolutely freakin’ exquisite. I love the lightly wrinkled effect around the bottom of the dress. It’s just so, so well done. The three colors it is available in are also all beautiful. I went with the bold Berry, but they’e all awesome. My pose is also for The Theme Park, and it is one of the Like A Lady poses from an lar. It’s so cute, isn’t it? I love the positions of the arms and feet.

Romance

I’ll have more from The Theme Park, as well as other events, in coming days! But in the meantime, come by and check it out for yourself! You can also follow us on Pinterest or Plurk, and like us on facebook.

No good can come of this

I have to confess something. In real life I despise shoes. I hate them with every fiber of my being. I resent having to wear them. I live in flip flops as long as I can get away with it. Or slip on clogs (that have no heel). Shoes and I have been enemies for many years. I’m blister prone and klutzy. I see shoes as foot prison. Boots are even worse because they trap part of the leg, too. And don’t even get me started on socks!

But in Second Life? I love shoes. LOVE. I think I live out all of my shoe fantasies here. When I saw the Gos Boutique Bonnie shoes for Shoetopia, I knew I’d found a pair I could not possibly pass on. I don’t typically think of Lucie as “badass” but gun shoes?! How could I not own these! The detail on these shoes is spectacular. You can also hide the bullet strap. And of course, like all Gos Boutique shoes, they have the easy color match system so you don’t need to spend hours trying to match your feet. Oh, and these pants are from from Cracked Mirror for FaMESHed and they do make quite the impression. My jacket is part of an outfit Sakide has at the Rockabilly Fashion Fair. It has a hud and a lot of options for metals and the back artwork.

No good can come of this

Here’s a better look! In this picture you can also see the gorgeous Bali anklet available from Cae’s Shoetopia gacha.

Remember, Shoetopia isn’t just the shoe shopping event of the season. It’s also a fundraiser for Soles 4 Souls, an organization that is helping, among others, the typhoon victims in the Philippines. This is a great charity, and it’s a chance to have fun shopping while also helping others.

The Witch’s Workshop

October has always been a great month for events in SL. Of course, we have all the regular events happening, but right now there are a few special ones, too. Wizarding Faire, The Nest’s Halloween Hunt and Candy Fair in particular. This post is going to be image heavy, so I am not going to chatter on and on. Hey, I heard that sigh of relief! 😛

All three of these events end soon. Candy Fair on October 18th, The Nest’s Halloween Hunt on October 19th, and Wizarding Faire on October 20th. Be sure you don’t miss out. I will note in this post which items are from which events! Some items featured in this post are from another event, the Fantasy Gacha Fair. That event ends on October 31st, so you do have a little more time on that one! Also, please note the sim for that event is an adult sim, so you will need to be age verified. If something’s not clear, just ask in comments.

Events, events, events!

So many events, so little time! This post is a hodgepodge of events, featuring the Under The Sea Expo, http://seraphimsl.com/2013/06/08/collabor88-june-edition/, The Garden, My Attic and The Outlet! *wipes brow* That’s a lot of eventage! Yeah, I know that’s not a word.

First up, I love this gown from The Muses, available at Under The Sea Expo. It’s such a unique style. It’s a mesh/system hybrid (the bikini top is system), and it’s great for RP or just for dramatic fun. I’m kind of obsessed with purple lately, so I had to wear the purple one.

The Siren's Walk

I paired the dress with some gorgeous jewels from Ellabella, and this stunning Glam Affair skin for this month’s Collabor88. My eyes are from IKON (big surprise, I’m sure). Both of these pics were taken in the A.D.D Andel! Beach Nights Skysphere.

In the fog

I fell in love with this dress from Evie’s Closet, also from the Under The Sea Expo. It’s another mesh hybrid, with system layer seashells and a flexi skirt. Honestly, it’s been so long since I’ve worn anything flexi, I’d forgotten how fun it can be to photograph when you’re using AO poses (as I did here). Mesh is awesome, but it doesn’t move the way flexi does, obviously, and sometimes I miss that sense of movement in photos! This adorable ice cream cart gives wearable ice cream props, and it’s from What Next for The Garden. The floating lounger in the background is also from What Next, for Summerfest (more on that coming to a blog near you soon!).

Land Legs

My hair is from Ploom, and it’s at My Attic. I loved the starfish add on so much. I decided it would be perfect for this dress. All I could think when I saw this dress was of when Ariel gets legs in The Little Mermaid. Obviously, her clothes were uhm, different from this… but still. I imagined Daryl Hannah in Splash, too (totally dating myself here). And I thought… mermaids must like ice cream, too! My hands are SLink and the nails are from A:S:S Unicorn applier pack. The skin is Aeva for The Outlet. I loved the colors of the eyeshadow, and thought they worked nicely with my starfish hair adornment! Both of these pics were taken in the A.D.D Andel! Beach Days Skysphere.

Mermaids like ice cream too

More from me soon! There are more events to cover, after all!

So my BFF Rosa & I decided it would be fun to dress up as (nearly) identical twins. I am not going to tell you who is whom! You can guess. 😛

Aren’t we cute and summery? And yes, this post is uncharacteristically short for me.

Seeing Red

I fell in love with this Starlet dress from Blacklace. It’s gorgeously textured and sexy as hell. Even better? Through Thursday of this week it’s only L$99! This is also a limited edition color, for their weekly TGIF special, so grab it while it lasts. To find the dress, use the TP board and go to the Gifts area. Sale event items are also near there!

I built the look around the dress. My hair is new from Truth. I desperately wanted a straight bob haircut as a child, not understanding that without hours of work such a look is impossible for a girl with natural curls. I was crushed when I learned this, and to this day I admire straight bobs of all lengths. My shoes are from Gos Boutique and are available at this month’s edition of FaMESHed. I love polka dots. If something has polka dots, the odds are high I will want it!

Seeing Red

I took advantage of this gorgeous red to show off one of the many, many nail huds available from Flair for SLink hands and feet. This is from set 33, and I love the detail. This also lets me show off my new engagement ring. I had a ring my husband bought me in 2009, when we were still new to SL. It had 5 diamonds, one to symbolize each year we’d been married in RL, since we got married in SL on our 5th RL anniversary. Unfortunately, like many engagement rings in SL, it was no copy and quite a while ago, I accidentally deleted it. When I mentioned it still made me sad, he bought me a new ring! This is from Exquisite Jewelry, and the side stones have multiple gem options. I went with ruby to match the red vibe! Also… I have to say this, because it’s kind of uhm, prominent in this picture… this Blacklace mesh dress creates one awesome ass! Which is cool, since my avatar’s butt is kind of uhm… lush… without mesh, and sometimes I think mesh makes it too flat.

Nails

Finally, I am so utterly in love with my new skin from Glam Affair. This is Cleo, and Glam Affair is part of the Cosmetics Fair, which opened this weekend and features lots of designers. One of the offerings from Glam Affair is a set of lipsticks for Cleo (I’ve tested them with a couple of other Glam skins and they seemed to work on them, too). These are available individually or in a fatpack. I grabbed a few, and I’m wearing one in this pic. I love semi-matte lips. This lipstick has just a touch of shine/shimmer to make your lips pop, and the deep, rich red is a lovely shade that will work on a variety of skin tones. My eyes are from the new Ascension line by IKON. I’ve been in a browns/greens kind of place lately, but this deep blue spoke to me and I thought it would work well with all the red.

Sand & Sea Expo

I wanted to tell you about a fun event happening this weekend called the Sand & Sea Expo. There are a lot of awesome items available related to fun in the summer sun, and there’s also a Beachcomber event that allows you the chance to win free prizes! You’re looking for purple shells. Hit them wen you find ’em and see if you’re a winner!

I think my favorite thing about this event is that the organizers are using teleport boards! When you tp into the event, just look for these boards. They are also scattered throughout the event, making it much easier to get around. I really wish more events would do this, though I think I understand the rationale behind a fixed landing point. However, it’s often frustrating when an event is laggy due to the inevitable crowds, and I think it would be beneficial for events, especially shorter ones like this, if they did a teleport board instead.

Sand & Sea Expo

There are so many great exhibitors at this event, and it’s a lot of fun to wander around. There are two sims, including an underwater area. But my poor deprived avatar lives in the sky… on a landlocked platform, just like how in RL I live in a landlocked state. So, what’s a girl to do? Well, with some help from the Lisp Serenity Springs hot tub set, and a comfy beach blanket and umbrella from set from What Next, I created my own improvised beach well inland (and upland?)! To keep away unwanted visitors, I donned my ANA Sharkfin headband.

Landlocked

After basking in the sun lazily for a while, I had a need to cool off! While my “pool” can be a hot tub, I didn’t need to turn on the heat on this hot summer day, so I just hopped on in. But not alone. No, I took my adorable shoulder “pet” from KittyCatS… he wants to surf, but first his eye caught something off in the distance, so we’re looking at it. Probably a relative of mine. It’s hard training cats that birds aren’t prey, lemme tell you. My adorable bikini is from Callie Cline… I loved the cut of the bottom especially, and this teal color was perfect to get me in the faux beachy mood!

Look!

Speaking of Callie Cline & KittyCatS, be sure you stop by their space at the Sand & Sea Expo. It’s so freakin’ cute I could barely stand it. Here are a few raw shots I took while there. I only cropped these, so otherwise what you see is what you get.

With so many great vendors, you’ll wish this event was going to be around longer! But it ends on May 5th, so hurry up and head on over before it’s nothing more than a memory of days at the beach!

For Aeva Heartsick

One of the things I love about Second Life is seeing how it can be a real community, one that comes together to help one of its members. The For Aeva Heartsick event is one of these times. Amesha Jewell, the owner of Aeva/Heartsick and an incredibly talented designer, relies on her computer for her RL income. Specifically, she relies on SL earnings. Unfortunately, her computer finally died. Amesha’s been making a very long commute to her parents’ home as needed in order to get some work done, but friends wanted to help her out and organized a fundraiser to help offset, if not cover, the costs of replacing her computer. You can read more about the event here. There’s a wide variety of offerings to be had, and here I am featuring just a few of my favorites.

First, this new skin from Aeva highlights Amesha’s talents so perfectly. It also shows her dedication, given she did this work at her parents’ home so she could offer something at the fundraiser herself. Lyric has amazing eyes, don’t you think? There are other skins available, too, including some fantasy skins. Each skin is only L$100 and includes appliers for Puffy, Lolas and Lush breasts. Also, an added bonus… there are mesh feet in each skin box! So, if you’ve wanted some prettier feet but not wanted to spend the L on them, this is a great way to get a pair that match the skin exactly. The lipstick I have on is an add-on from Aeva and you get multiple colors for just L$75. I am wearing a necklace from Collisions that is also available at the FAH event. My beautiful ring is Cae’s Alchemy ring (at the birthday round of FaMESHed). Like all of Cae’s jewelry it has multiple gem and metal options, which I love.

Lyric (Aeva Skin)

When I saw this new hair from LoQ, I knew I wanted it. I love how summery it feels. Somehow it manages to be both messy and elegant at the same time! My dress is from Sakide, and is another FAH item. It comes in three color choices, but the black and white was my favorite. I paired it with my Gos Boutique espadrilles and felt the look was complete.

For Aeva Heartsick Event

This is a lovely event designed to help a fellow SLer who happens to be an absolute sweetheart and an incredible talent. So, why not hop over and have a look? Maybe you’ll find something a “must have” item and help a member of our community at the same time! The event runs through May 14th, so be sure to check it out before it’s over!
