My Bungalow: Part 1

I fell in love with the Barnesworth Anubis Carraway Bungalow that was part of Collabor88 in August. It’s a big house, so it took me a while to decorate it! I have a LOT of pics for this house, so I decided to break it down into two posts.

I modified this house a good bit, in terms of textures. Some of the walls I just tinted, and some I used wallpaper on. Unlike some mesh houses, that was possible with this one. It took some trial and error, but it was a lot of fun to do. I like customizing houses, so that they feel more “me.” I never used to do this, but my BFF Rosa got me hooked, and now I love it.

So, here are the pics… or at least the first batch. I’ll try to keep my comments to a minimum. As always, please click through the pics to see them bigger in Flickr. You’ll also find notes on each pic with where each item is from. If I missed something (I hope not!) or you want more info, feel free to ask in the comments here or on Flickr, or IM me in world.

Porch

I have to say this… the Carraway comes with several gorgeous built in cabinets and shelves. The best part? They are all functional, meaning they open!

Mantle

I wanted to particularly point out the adorable Friends artwork seen in this next collage because it is an item from Sway’s for the current round of The Arcade, and you only have a few more days to go try to win it!

It's the little things

Live comfortably

This college shows the dining room built in, which I photographed with some doors open, so you could get a better idea for what I mean about what an awesome detail this is.

And everyone was invited

The second post will be coming soon, so keep an eye out for it!

Around The World

If you haven’t already heard about Around The World, you should definitely check it out. It’s an awesome event brought to us by The Ego Co. It’s one of those cool events that celebrates diversity and represents multiple cultures. I have a few items from this event to share with you.

This gaucho outfit is from Valentina E. Couture. I love the variety of colors it comes in, and chose to show off the red. I don’t tend to wear a lot of red… in either of my lives! Well, aside from my hair. 😉 But I do love red. I added a cute beret from Evolve, also an ATW item. My shoes are from Ingenue, from the first round of The Arcade. The hair is a recent release from Truth, Rashida… and I just love how sleek and sophisticated it is! Oh, and it’s Pose Appreciate Week, and in this post I used poses from Adorkable. This pose was one of a pack in October’s MySecond Box. It’s a pack called Attitude, and I used pose 3 and the mirrored version of pose 3 for the two pics in this blog post!

Around The World

This next pic lets you take a closer look at the detail work in the VE outfit… and also gives me the chance to show off this adorable bangle bracelet from Noodles, which is also available at Around The World. My adorable necklace is from HandVerk for L’Accessories. I saw it and knew it would work perfectly for this outfit. There’s also a bolero jacket and cute hat available from Valentina E. Couture for this outfit, but I wanted to create a “melting pot” feeling. Finally, this stunning skin is part of a new release from Adam n Eve. It’s Laina and I am in love with it. You’ll see more of this skin in my next post, too!

Melting Pot

That’s all from me for now. Be sure to stop by Around The World before it ends on November 29th!

Last Call For Vintage Fair!

Vintage Fair 2012 ends tomorrow! This is your last chance to get there and grab all the great goodies in one place, and of course, the exclusives!

I was almost tempted to title this post “The one where I cross dress.” I did this first pic in black & white, both because it doesn’t get a lot more vintage, and because the lovely Maci Restless is sponsoring a Black & White bloggers challenge! I definitely want to do more of this challenge, but this is a start. The entire suit in this look, including the shoes, is from Gizza. The gorgeous skin is from Aeva, and the fun, playful pose – complete with prop – is from HIS.

Gizza for Vintage Fair

I really like this skin, and I made a male shape just for the skin.

Aeva for Vintage Fair

For my second look, I donned this adorable Bombshell dress from Lily Bird. This store was new to me, but I love it! This coral color is so perfect for me, with my red hair. I paired it with some funky jewelry I snagged recently at HANDverk, and a favorite Truth hair.

Lily Bird - Vintage Fair

My skin in these pics is a recent Lazy Sunday offering from CandyDoll. I thought it was an adorable skin, and really wanted to blog it.

Vintage Angles

That’s all for me… be sure to check out Vintage Fair before it ends tomorrow. They’ve turned off landing points, so this list of slurls is very handy!

So many looks, so little time

I’ve had a rotten week. Let’s just get it out there. Fibromyalgia is an evil bitch sometimes. Okay, most of the time. So, I took some time off. But today I realized, wait, Lucie… you have TONS TO BLOG! And so, here I am. Blogging some of the tons.

Let’s start with last week’s new Truth style Marina & new mesh pants from BOOM. I snagged this adorable tank during a recent sale at Geometry, and I finished off the look with my Storm heels from Gos. I kind of agonized over what shoes to wear, but these were perfect. With the change of seasons upon us – or at least on those of us who live in ridiculous places, like I do – I’ve been getting my adorable Funky Junk cottage ready for autumn. I have had my eye on this snuggle chair from LISP for a long time now, and I decided it was simply time. So, on cool, late summer morning, I got comfy in my chair with some coffee.

Big Comfy Chair

I love these pants. They come in an unbelievable selection of colors. I’ve chosen to model the cocoa (above) and the cobalt (below). The top in the below pic is from Cracked Mirror for My Attic (August edition – Shaken Not Stirred – runs through August 31st). I’ve been seeing a lot of plaid in SL fashion lately, and I say bring it on! I love plaid. This pose is from Miseria. Something about it brought to mind the Billy Joel song “Pressure,” and that inspired this pic. It’s something of a departure for me, but it’s quirky and I like quirky.

Pressure

The hair is also from last week’s Truth release, and I feel so sophisticated and sexy in this one. It’s called Bria, and even the name feels elegant! This pose is also from Miseria and is part of the August pack available at The Attic. I fell in love with this cylinder necklace from Handverk. The items from that store are so unique. My earrings were made by my friend Altair Stickfigure. They feature Pusheen. She made them for me after I discovered that cute kitty this week.

Hold On

After a long day, I decided to unwind… though this My Attic release from Pididdle is intended as a bikini, I decided it could make for some cute lingerie, too, and I lounged about in bed in our Linden home (I wanted shadows which, alas, I don’t get in my sky area because of the surround) wearing that (and little else) while the sun set.

Languid

The next morning, I tossed one of Rad’s shirts over my linger-kini while I got some work done over a lazy breakfast in bed, courtesy of my What Next Nieve bed (if only our RL beds could give us food!).

The morning after

Okay, so the Boyfriend Shirt is actually a new release from Zenith Fashions. I just had to have it. I chose this color because it actually looked like a shirt Rad would wear. In fact, I think it looks like one he has!

And now that I’ve had some rest, it’s time for me to get back to work… which means more posts soon! I wish you a fabulous weekend.
