Puppy Dreams

I’ve been a bit creatively blocked recently. RL has been stressful, and I’m sure that’s part of it. So I took about a week because I really just hate to force blogging. It’s inauthentic for me, and I always despise the pics I do if I’m forcing it. I want to love it. I decided to do a home decor scene for you. I find that decorating often helps me “unblock,” and between various events I had plenty to show you.

It’s Collabor88’s 4th birthday, so this round is huge. The theme is Daydream, and there’s so much lovely to be had. You might have trouble getting in, but brace yourself because once you do you’re likely to leave broke (I know I did)! But it’s worth it! I loved these flottante puppies from {anc} and I knew I needed to have a set. I got the cream. The house I’m using is Scarlet Creative’s Collabor88 item, and the journal on the side table with the latte is from Pixel Mode, and also at Collab.

Puppy Dreams

The bed is also from Pixel Mode, along with the nightstand and pitcher, but that is available at Shiny Shabby, which closes on the 15th. The chair, table and book piles are from Cheeky Pea, for Uber’s current round. The pretty vase on the table is Uncertain Smile for Illusion Point, and the candle stick next to the bed is from Paper Moon, also at Illusion Point (which ends August 18th). The adorable jar on the table is by Sway’s for the Fantasy Gacha Carnival.

Definitely be sure to check out all of these great events… for these releases and plenty more!

Coming soon to a Fair(e) near you!

There are two events opening this weekend. One is Hair Fair, which celebrates it’s 10th AMAZING year of raising money for Wigs For Kids, with every transaction donating all or part of the proceeds (signs will tell you how much) to this fabulous charity. Ten years, guys. How incredibly awesome is that ? Hair Fair opens July 11th at 12 am SLT (give or take a few minutes). If you are anxious to demo without lag, or just get a head start on making your wish list, you can join the demo group to save all the demo goodness! I highly recommend that, as it helps speed things along and it’s just fun! It’s a great way to discover new stores, too.

Copy and paste the following into local chat and click the link to join the demo group: secondlife:///app/group/2e30d166-f3e5-e2de-ff72-b3da2d06ded2/about

You can find out more about Hair Fair, and get maps and slurls (once open) on the Hair Fair blog.

To learn more about Wigs For Kids, visit their website. Also, while at Hair Fair 2015, be sure to grab one of the amazing bandanas created for Bandana Day. Bandana Day is July 26th (also the final day of Hair Fair 2015), and for this day we honor the courage and strength of kids (and adults) fighting conditions that result in hair loss by donning a bandana. Bandana Day bandanas are created by SL residents and 100% of the proceeds go to Wigs For Kids. There are a lot of amazing, creative options (I can’t wait to show you the one I picked!), and they’re only L$50 a piece and for a great cause.

I am wearing one of Exile’s Hair Fair releases and my fellow blogger is wearing one of Elikatira’s. We’re also both wearing necklaces by Cae that will be available starting July 12th at this year’s Wizarding Faire. This event was one of my favorites ever when it debuted in 2013, so I’m truly thrilled it’s coming back. In fact, it inspired me to start reading the books again! And we’re both wearing outfits you can find at the current Rustic themed edition of Uber.

Summer Friends

It’s going to be a jam-packed weekend of awesome with both of these amazing events opening, so be sure you don’t miss out!

The Safe House

I don’t know what it is about this little house of Soy’s for The Home Show 2015, but when I rezzed it my immediate concept was that it was like a safe house. I’ve had a couple of people go, Oh! Like for a zombie apocalypse? And that would certainly work, but I was thinking more along the lines of something out of Scandal or Homeland. Regardless, of whether you’re going for a spy safe house, zombie safe house or just a new house in general, it’s pretty cool and worth checking out!

The Home Show ends May 31st, so you have less than a week left! Be sure you don’t miss out.

The Sewing Loft

A couple of months back I bought this gorgeous converted barn from Barnesworth Anubis. I am in so love with this house (which is insanely huge, btw) that I may keep it through the holidays. For a compulsive home changer like me, that’s quite a statement. One of my favorite features of this home is the giant loft. I decided I wanted to make it half a library (and when that part’s done, there will be pics) and half a craft sort of area. This meant that Pixel Mode’s beautiful Arcade set, The Sewing Corner, was perfect for up there!

Lair of the Seamstress

I also wanted some seating, so I threw in a couple of pieces from Scarlet Creative’s Meribel set, also from The Arcade, which you can see in this wider shot of the room.

The Sewing Loft

There are still five full days left at The Arcade, so be sure to stop by before it’s over!

My Bungalow: Part 2

If you missed part 1 of this blog post, you can find it here. The Barnesworth Anubis Carraway Bungalow is so gorgeous, and because of how big it is I knew I’d need to break this down into two posts. So, without further ado, here is the final part. As always, please click through to Flickr and hover over the pics to see where each item is from. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

This house has two bathrooms. I left the upstairs bathroom as it is when you buy the house, so you can see what the bathrooms look like if you’d rather not retexture. However, in the downstairs bathroom I did a lot of tinting/retexturing. I call the upstairs bath the “rustic bath” because I decorated it with more old fashioned feeling furnishings, as you can see here.

The Rustic Bathroom

For the downstairs bathroom, I wanted a sense of luxury. So, while it still has a bit of a vintage feel (I tend to like vintage/rustic in home design/decor), it also has lots of lush amenities.

Where Dreams Happen

They say the kitchen is the heart of the home. I don’t know how true that is, but in SL I do love to have one! Here are some pics of the cozy kitchen I put together.

Kitchen Comforts

Bake ALL the things

The Carraway Bungalow has four bedrooms. I only photographed two. One of them was designed as a den, and the other as a guest room. Below is a collage of the den.

The Gathering Place

The guest room wound up being my favorite room in the house, and after that I struggled with what was going to be the master bedroom for weeks. I finally decided to just stop so I could blog everything else and transition to my autumn home. Here are the pics of the guest room.

Guest Room Collage

I had to make sure my KittyCatS made an appearance, so tucked into the nooks and crannies of this adorable cupboard bed from fri.day you will notice Meowzers and tiny Strawberry Milk.

Where cats rule

Finally, this spot was my absolute favorite in the entire house… it’s also a part of what I designed as the guest room, and I will end my blog post with this pic.

Corner For Rainy Days & Dreams

If you’re looking for a versatile home that is suitable for a family, I definitely recommend checking this one out. It’s a winner!
