Slayers don’t get holidays…

So if you haven’t been to Geeks ‘N’ Nerds, it closes on the 10th… it’s time to get go get your geek on.

I’m getting mine on here, with some help from Fishy Strawberry, Elephante Poses, Cheeky Pea, ieQED, Wasabi Pills, Culprit and Brixley. The curves on this Fishy Strawberry outfit are killer, but I did want to mention something. I noticed the large (my normal size) was really big so I tried the medium (seen here). If you demo this, you might find you need to do the same, particularly if you’re normally a large. The medium fits perfectly, except I switched my SLink hands to the medium size as well, in order to keep them from poking out around the cuffs. Also, see the kitty on the Roomba like vacuum cleaner? That’s from Culprit and it’s called a “Prrmbah.” It actually will “clean” your room for you and it’s pretty hilarious.

No Room To Walk

So I went a little crazy with goodies from The Arcade. I said I wouldn’t go nuts this time… well. You be the judge of how that worked out.

No room to walk

Since I have three floorplan tents, I had my BFF Rosa come over to a slumber party. We each have our own Art Dummy alarm clocks, set to our time zones (she’s Central, and I’m Mountain). Our matching PJs are from Blacklace, and we’re both wearing slippers from Conspiracy Theory (that were at the last round of The Arcade).

Sleepover BFFs

If you click through on any of these pics, you can hover for notes on where each item is from. Or you can just ask me. My adorable house is from Trompe Loeil for Collabor88. It reminds me of my RL dream house, or at least similar to that style, so I had to snag it, and you still have time to head there and grab it, too!

These piglets from Ohmai just make me smile. If you click through on this pic, you’ll get the name of each one. Harry Porker is probably my favorite! Check out The Arcade Shopping Guide for all the awesome goodies, and hurry because it ends tomorrow!

Piglet Collage

Finally, not Arcade related, but from another event ending this weekend… this utterly adorable skin from La Petite Morte for My Attic. It’s only L$95 and includes zinc nose tattoos. I snagged one for myself and then sent my six year-old over there. Isn’t Alma cute??? I’m a terrible “mom.” I must’ve not put enough sunscreen on her because her cheeks are burnt… btw, her hair is from Magika where there is a 50% off sale happening.

Winter Wonderland

Winter sparkles and shimmers, and the cold means plenty of snuggly, comfy clothes… I love winter. Winter in Second Life is so much fun. There are always lost of fun, festive items to be had. And I know for those of you in “normal”places in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s not officially winter. Of course, it’s not officially winter here, either… but once we get our first snows, which happens early at 9,000 feet above sea level, well, it’s winter to me!

La Petite Morte recently released a gorgeous new skin named Birgit. The Outlet Sales Room has 2 versions of this skin for just $L99 each! The pale tone is especially adorable and has the look of being outside in the cold, so I paired it with some frosty, wintry eyebrows from Izzie’s and I teleported skated over the Izzie’s store sim, which is all decked out for winter (and absolutely stunning). I happened upon an abandoned pose stand tucked into a snow bank, and it had some of Izzie’s Headshot poses. I decided it was serendipity and hopped on to take this shot!

Winter Wonderland

This horse is one of the items Izzie Button has used to decorate her sim. Continuing with Pose Appreciation Week, I made sure to get the details on the horsey. This prop is from Focus Poses. I think I need to buy one of these for my own personal use! The adorable hair I am wearing is from Wasabi Pills, and it includes the scarf. By the way… there are Hogwarts house colors included in the texture options, for any fellow geeks. 😀 My cozy, oversized sweater is from NiNight Creations. I added a comfy turtleneck from fri.day and some fuzzy tights from JANE. These boots are from Lassitude & Ennui and are part of a very important fundraiser called Unhinged. More about Unhinged in just a moment, but first… the picture.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Okay, so about Unhinged. This event is raising money for an SLer named Eku Zhong. I don’t know Eku, but she is very sick. She has multiple sclerosis, which is an illness that hits close to home for me, as my husband has it. But it’s more complicated than just that. Eku’s also battled cancer. She now needs reconstructive surgery, and this is not some minor surgery, nor is it about vanity… in fact, without it, she might die. To read more check this blog post. There are a lot of awesome items available for this event, and it’s definitely worth checking out.

Sassy 60s…

One thing that has always sort of stood out in my mind when I think of fashions from the 60s is the diversity. This latest Vintage Fair post features three looks from that decade that are dramatically different, but each awesome in their own right!

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was a style icon of the 60s and even the 70s, but it was looks like this Jackie O inspired look from Purple Moon Creations that really stood out, and for which she is often most remembered. Purple Moon is one of the Vintage Fair sponsors this year, and this mesh set from their Vintage Fair offerings is just so elegant, and sophisticated. I paired it with glasses, also from Purple Moon. The hair is one of the offerings from Vanity Hair for Vintage Fair, and features a texture change band. Something about this look just made me think “Summer Glamour.”

Summer Glamour

I paired the look with Vintage Fair offerings from R+U Dogs. The ring is beautiful, and has a lot of various options scripted into it.

Slightly Incognito

The earrings are also divine, with a lot of gem and pearl color options, and the look was perfected with the VIP group gift skin from Izzie’s. This gift was a preview of her now-released Elena skin (which I bought immediately!), and it’s so pretty, soft and sophisticated.

Vintage Elena

From the chic sophistication of the Jackie O look, I went to the mod look with the Twiggy dress from Evolve. This dress comes in so many color options, but I loved the mix of soft pastels with brights in this version, and I knew it would nicely compliment the Vintage Fair skin offering from SHINE. One of the latest releases from Truth, Liberty, seemed perfect for this look.

Truth Evolves

And here’s an up close pic of the skin… I’m wearing it with a teeth option that is a tattoo layer. Also, notice that in this pic, I’ve turned on the adorable bow that is a feature of Liberty. The bow has a lot of color choices, and obviously an “off” option, too!

Shine on me

This final look makes me think of a stylish (late) 60s housewife. The dress and skin are both Vintage Fair offerings, from CIA and La Petite Morte, respectively. The shoes are by ChaChaDee and are also available at Vintage Fair.

Oh, hi

I love this skin’s subtle dimples! It adds a very cute touch to a sophisticated skin. A lot of skins in SL look very young, which is great, but this one has a more mature quality I like a lot, too. This hair was one of the new releases from Wasabi Pills at Hair Fair. I hadn’t bought it then, but they have it out in their Vintage Fair store, too, and I knew it would be perfect for so many of the possible looks I could create!

CIA & La Petite Morte

I’ll be back with more soon… ❤
