A little bit of home…

I really enjoy decorating in SL. Maybe it’s because I’ve never really had the patience for it in RL, but whatever the cause, it’s a lot of fun. I wanted to share some of my “homestyle” with you.

This cute little building is the April Shed from L&K Prefabs. The furniture is also from L&K Prefabs, and it is texture change (which I love). Also, see the cute little table? Well, the fold down sides actually work! You can put both of them up or down, or just one as I’ve done for this pic. I loved tables like this in RL when I was a little girl. My great-grandmother had one and I used to call it the “magic table” because you could make it bigger. To me, it was endlessly cool and fascinating. What can I say, I was a strange kid! My top is from Sn@tch, and the adorable polka dot skirt is Sakide. My shoes are from Redgrave and you’ll see more of them in future posts, I’m sure. The hair is Truth.

Next, is the inside of the Laurel Cottage from What Next. I’ve blogged some pics of this cottage before, but I wanted to show off the bedroom and the kitchen in particular. I have the What Next Laurel kitchen, which fits exactly perfectly in the Laurel Cottage.

Laurel Cottage Kitchen

This kitchen is also texture change. In fact, the Laurel Cottage has a cute little covered control panel and all of the walls have multiple color options. The house is also mod, so you can always texture it to suit your own needs as well. I retextured the bedroom so it would be purple. I love the French doors to the upstairs deck in the bedroom.

Also, the Laurel Cottage has these lovely stained glass windows. You can see them in this shot of the sitting area I set up in the bedroom.

An Unconventional Wedding

The brand new event The Garden, presented by The Liaison Collaborative, is now open! I was given the chance to preview some of the releases you can find there, and I must say you’re missing out if you don’t go!

When I rezzed the Wedding Altar from L&K Prefabs, I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. It came with some lovely, worn chairs in a variety of cheery colors, but I recently wrote a wedding-themed post and so I wasn’t sure I wanted to repeat that again so soon. I had this vague concept of just sticking some of my prettiest KittyCatS on there, but then… well… that sort of turned into something so much bigger than I imagined it would. What follows is a (not even slightly) true story of KittyCatS love.

The King & Queen of Winterland, Nicholas & Alexandra, wanted to renew their vows. They’d already done the formal wedding, naturally, as you’d expect of royals. So, they decided upon a garden themed wedding and invited all of their feline friends. Niles & Ginger, the Lord & Lady of Kittensham, served as Best Man & Matron of Honor. Bellini, a dear friend of the King & Queen, donned a cheerful vest and summer hat, and performed the ceremony. The bridesmaids held balls, instead of bouquets. Jian, the tiny flower kitten got distracted by a butterfly, and Zilver, the ring bearer was stretching and fidgeting the entire time, as young kittens are wont to do. But despite the antics of the youngest members of the bridal party, the royal couple’s renewal vows went perfectly.

Royal Wedding

While Alexandra & Nicholas renewed their love for one another, their friends watched on, from comfy old chairs. Leon, the MegaPuss, was too large for a chair, so he simply sat besides one of the guests and watched on. You wouldn’t dream of crashing this wedding party with such an imposing figure on site, would you? But Leon’s really just a big ole pussycat who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Well, okay, maybe if the fly was asking for it.

Unconventional Wedding

Following the ceremony, the not-so-young couple had the traditional first dance near the reception site. The catering was provided from What Next. I leaned against a stool and watched, while my friend Rosa photo bombed us by popping inside the caravan.

The Reception

Later, Jian (the tiny teacup kitten) and I had a heart-to-heart as I waited for my drink order to be served. Meanwhile, behind Jian & I, the newly partnered Rosa, and her guy Bentley, had heart-to-heart of their own.

Chat Chat

It was a lovely event. Everyone should really attend a KittyCatS wedding at some point in their SLife. I must confess I giggled all morning!
