A Hearty Harvest…

It was a brisk autumn morning, and I had a busy day ahead of me. I knew I’d need a good breakfast to keep me going, so I fried up some eggs and bacon, toasted some bread and steamed some milk for hot cocoa. I had already finished my eggs, but my husband was no place to be seen for his… and I have to admit, they smelled good enough that I considered eating his share, too! Instead, I sat and drank my cocoa. I was wearing my quirky and adorable Sunday Breakfast dress from Zanzibar CreationZ, but even with the wood stove burning, I was a touch cold, so I tossed on my Carolina jacket from e! to stave off the chill. And, so maybe I cheated a bit on the breakfast and had it catered by Rassasy Foods… shhh. Don’t tell Rad on me!

Breakfast

I spent the day decorating, and getting things right for my Harvest Party. However, with my eldest daughter usually off at Hogwarts, I didn’t want to miss the rare opportunity for some bonding time. So, we went out onto the patio (which I built myself, well, sorta… and yeah, I’m actually dorky enough to be proud of that one prim I didn’t even texture). Ashlan was thrilled when I used a bit of magic to light us a fire. Sitting in our comfy What Next Autumn Porch chairs, in the glow of the embers, as the fire crackled away, we sipped on yet more cocoa… and we weren’t cold at all! It helped that Ash was dressed for the weather in her Tres Blah sweater dress and Sn@tch tights!

Fireside bonding

Alas, all good things must end, and Ash used the Floo Network to return to school… while I changed into festive – yet comfy – party attire. I had snagged my cute top from ISON at The Arcade, along with this collar from Piddle. The skirt is Elena from Sn@tch… I love the silvery threads woven through it. My adorable shoes are another Arcade find, one my friend Cami was kind enough to share when she got an extra. These Ariane shoes from Ingenue are one of the “rares” you can win – if you’re lucky. My autumn decor is from What Next. I loved this Pumpkin Party Cooler set. It dispenses drinks, and it’s oh-so-adorable. Definitely put me in the party mood, which is rare! Also, for those who prefer their harvest drinks warm and non-alcoholic, I naturally had to make the Pumpkin Spice Lattes on this tray… you can get the recipe from the What Next Autumn Frames set, and it’s so cute that you’ll also want to hang it up to share with all! And because I’m a chocoholic, there was also more cocoa on hand!

Harvest Party

Though nervous, I think I managed to pull off my role as hostess rather nicely. My buffet table from La’Lalicious was the perfect place for all my party accouterments, along with this adorable scale that What Next has to offer from Zodiac this round (and I believe the scales are exclusive to the event). My hair got a bit messy, as you can see, but I think it worked with the boho chic look I’d put together.

Cocoa anyone?

I like to think a fun time was had by all… and I’m looking forward to my holiday party! I definitely plan to get that catered, too. 😉

Looks

Well, hi there…

So… I have a blog now. Yay and stuff.

My first post is going to be short and sweet. Sort of a “testing the waters before jumping in head first.”

I love Truth hair. This is no secret to those who know me, or who have been in my store (as it’s used frequently in ads). I also love pretty much all the stores in the Truth District, so when I saw that they were having a contest, I decided to enter. I created two looks for this special occasion.

Killer Beauty - Truth District Contest Entry 2

I always say that my husband is my favorite pose maker in SL. While I’m obviously and unabashedly biased, I love his poses. Admittedly, that may be partly because I have some say in what poses he makes… 😉 I’ve wanted an excuse to use one of his Ballistic poses for a while, and I fell in love with this lingerie from Whippet & Buck during the recent sale at the Truth District, and when I added this sexy, windblown hair from Truth, finally a look was born. I am crazy about Aura’s Briar skins. I feel so sultry and slightly exotic when I wear this line. I think it’s the deliciously pouty lips and dramatic eye makeup, but whatever it is, I adore Briar. And few of my looks are complete without a pair of my Gos shoes from the Pimp Your Pumps series. Seriously one of the best shoe bargains in SL, with all the color options and customization available. The necklace is from Miao, and I just felt the look wanted a big, chunky necklace.

Truth District Contest Entry 1

I really like quirky looks, and something about the amazing Gos Triumph boots with the sexy Aura skirt topped with the Celoe tank (all mesh) just struck me as uniquely, well, me. Again, I’m wearing Briar from Aura… and the hair is Kalle from Truth. I wandered into T Town to take this pic, and I have to go back to explore more soon.

So… there you have it. My first blog post. Credits down yonder.
