Prissy In Pink

Happy Valentine’s Day! I’m still recovering from a nasty bout of bronchitis… but I didn’t want to let today go by without say I hope you all have a lovely ❤ Day.

My adorable look inspired the title Prissy In Pink. The skin, a Valentine's Day special from Aeva, is so deliciously pouty. When I added the hair – Tenille – from Truth's last release, with it's poufy bow and the corset dress from Greymoon with its polka dots, I just felt so girly. This dress will be out in Greymoon's mainstore in a couple of days, and it's hud controlled with multiple texture options! I'm not usually big on pink… but I get in moods once in a while, and this one just happened to be rather well timed! It also gave me the chance to use the pink shade of my Grace sandals from Gos Boutique! Oh, and btw… for those who don't like hair bows, Tenille comes with an alternate version sans bow!

Prissy In Pink

Now for a closeup of Selene. This skin is just so lovely. I consider one of the Aeva//Heartsick trademarks to be how utterly soft Amesha Jewell’s skins look. The Sweetheart makeup, special for Valentine’s Day, is ultra feminine, and there’s a quiet maturity to this skin for those who prefer to look a bit older. My eyes are from IKON’s Eternal line. The shade is called Mesa, and I liked the hint of an almost pinkish brown that this color has to it. I’m kind of obsessed with this line of eyes. I’m incredibly fussy about how eyes look in SL, and I have to confess I don’t like most eyes. I’ve been addicted to IKON eyes since last spring, and that addiction doesn’t seem to be waning at all. Oh, also… check out this adorable necklace from Collisions! It’s called Forever Infinite and it’s so pretty, and yet it’s not overly feminine. It’s designed to be unisex.

Aeva Selene Sweetheart

Lots of hugs to all…

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

I decided that since I have so much hair in SL, I should really try a challenge. So, the Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow challenge was born. My goal is to do one very simple post every day. To help keep it easy, I have selected a default look, which includes the outfit, skin, eyes, etc. You can get all the details on this challenge on the page I created for it. Those details include the credits for everything I am wearing in the picture below… except, of course, the hair.

Today’s hair is a fairly recent release from Truth. I fell in love with this style immediately. It’s called Bianca, and it’s one of those I consider a “must have” because it’s so versatile. It could easily be worn casually or dressed up. I am wearing Bianca in Blood w/roots. I like the roots styles, as I feel they add a bit of depth to the hair.

HTGT Day 1: Bianca

Remember, for all the details other than hair, check the HTGT page. You can use the link in this post, or find it in the menu on my home page!

Happy New Year!!!

Deck The Halls!

I can’t believe Christmas is finally just about here… only a few days remain! So much I want to blog still!

The Outlet is a sales event that has some great items. One of the available items is this gorgeous, fun, and quirky dress from Greymoon. I feel like I’m all dressed up as my husband’s gift in this sexy, sparkly getup! There are 3 colors at the outlet, including the reverse of what I’m wearing and a purple w/white! Each is only L$75, so check it out! I completed my look with the gorgeous new Pomona jewelry set from Cae, one of Truth’s newest hairs and my sassy red patent heels from G Field. This prop is from Hopscotch, and it’s appropriately called Sexy Christmas. It has multiple poses built into it, and it’s a lot of fun to play with.

Unwrap Me

This skin is another of the Aeva skins for the holidays. This one is Jaci. It’s dramatic and stunning, and perfect for the more formal holiday themed events you might attend!

Deck The Halls

Hopefully I will get another post done before Christmas, but if not a very Merry one to all who celebrate. ❤

Last Call! RFL Christmas Expo!

This is the last day of the RFL Christmas Expo. If you haven’t been yet, definitely try to get there! It’s such a great cause, and it’s a lovely build with tons of goodies.

This first pic features an old fashioned Christmas tree from the Expo and an adorable pose I got from the Adorkable Arcade gacha! The tree is by Hanaya, and like the trees of years gone by it features lovely lit candles. Unlike the trees of years gone by, there’s no fire danger from this one, and the tree skirt is texture change! The adorable kitty bed Winter is sleeping on is one of the items in the KittyCatS Advent Calendar, and it’s from A.D.D. Andel! My presents, aside from the Adorkable props, are all from What Next.

For Me?

The With Love From Hunt also continues, and this cute chalkboard is evolve’s gift for that hunt. The Winter Holiday Side Table is something I found from End of Daze at the RFL Expo. I thought it was crazy cute and just had to put it out! Especially if you like your Christmasy things to have a more modern, clean look, this is a must have.

Christmas with love

Next, if you feel you need a festive and fun holiday skin, Aeva has several absolutely gorgeous ones out… and best of all? They’re only L$100 each! This one is Yves, and I just thought it was stunning. I will be blogging more of these holiday skins ASAP.

Aeva Yves Holiday Skin

This is another pic featuring an Adorkable pose you can get from The Arcade gacha! I thought it was so cute, and I decided to wear this Sakide corset dress from the F R O S T event to create a cute, sexy and playful look. The hair is a relatively new release from Exile, and I loved the flowers (they are texture change, but you can wear it without them, too)!

Helper

I hope your having a wonderful holiday season!

RFL Christmas Expo (and more!)

Gosh, it’s been almost two weeks since I blogged. I’ve had some fun RL school stuff to sort through, but it’s resolved now (yay!) and I feel like I can once again focus on blogging. Just the process of starting this post made me realize how much I’ve missed it!

Tis the season in SL… events, hunts and gifts galore abound on the grid these days. Which means I have so, so much I want to share with you… so I’ll get started!

First of all, tomorrow begins the Christmas Expo to support Relay For Life. This is a fabulous charity, and one that Second Life residents raise a lot of money for every year. This charity is personal for me, as many of my family members have battled cancer. Some lost their battles, but other have survived. I myself have to get regular blood tests because there’s been some slight concern about my chronically high white blood cell count. So far, I’ve remained healthy and there’s nothing to worry about (except that I’m an expert worrier), but it’s scary enough. Having gone through only that (as well as watching loved ones cope with cancer), I can’t imagine how terrifying facing an actual cancer diagnosis is on a personal level.

The blogger preview for this event is later today, so I imagine in the days to come I will have far more to share. The following is just a teaser. I was fortunate enough to have the chance to preview the lovely Samantha skin from Diamond Style. I’ve often said that if I were ever to ditch my red hair in SL, I’d go for black hair. Well, this skin has dark brows and more pink eyeshadow than I think would flatter my usual red, so I opted for one of Truth’s gorgeous blacks! Don’t worry, though. My red hair isn’t going anywhere for long! I paired this skin with the gorgeous With Love From hunt gift from Cae. I love this jewelry set so much. It reminds me of little winter berries, and yet it will stay seasonal all year long.

Silver Diamonds

The festive, sparkly and glam makeup on Samantha demanded a gorgeous, festive dress! So I tossed on this adorable glitter mini from Sn@tch. This adorable little dress comes in many colors, including a basic black… and you get them all in your pack for a fabulous price. Just remember, at Sn@tch you’re buying just your size in mesh, so be sure to demo first, so you get the proper size for your shape. My sexy kitten heels are from SLink. I love how richly detailed these are. They really look like they are fabric… shiny, beautiful satin to be exact.

Sn@tch Perfection

You’d pretty much have to be living in a box to not have heard that the new addition of The Arcade began this past weekend. It took me three days before I could even get in, but now it’s probably quieted down some. If it’s like last time, though, it may be hard to get in again over the weekend, so be sure to try to pop over during the week if you can! The tiara I am wearing in the next two pics is one of so many amazing items you can find there. I plan to do more pics for The Arcade, including a close up of the adorable Noodles’ tiaras.

One of my favorite spots to take pics in SL is Water Reserve, home of *emm shop & scribbled hearts. Well, the amazing Randi Lenroy & Snowy Melody have outdone themselves with the winter look of this sim, and that’s where the following pics were taken. Initially, I’d had every intention of making use of their adorable, sparkly skating pond. But then I saw this leaf floating off shore, and I was compelled to sit on it and snap pics.

So far away

The festive little leaf has multiple poses, and I very much enjoyed my float. I do look a bit sullen, though… as if waiting for a deep freeze. I titled this next pic “Downfall of the Ice Queen.”

Downfall of the Ice Queen

Definitely be sure to check out The Arcade. Here’s the shopping guide to help you plan your visit.

Giving Thanks

I wanted to take a moment to write a Thanksgiving post. This one is going to be short, as our dinner’s nearly done… but I couldn’t let this day pass without acknowledging that I have many things to be thankful for as a blogger. First of all, I need to thank the beautiful, talented Rezipsa Luckstone, owner of RezIpsa Loc. I’m not sure if she has any idea how much she influenced me to start “formally” blogging when I did. See, Rezzie had added me to her blogger list. She told me it was because I was “awesome.” I was “microblogging” on Flickr, not even knowing “microblogging” was a thing. Rezzie’s faith in me really inspired me to branch out and begin this blog. So I have to be thankful for her, because without her, I’m not entirely sure I’d be here blogging today.

Next, I need to thank you. Yes, you right there reading this post. Blogs work because people read them. Honestly, I’d blog if I had no audience. I just love it. But I wouldn’t accomplish nearly as much without my readers’ support and encouragement. So thank you so much for taking the time to share in my shopping, writing and photography obsession. I appreciate it more than words could ever say.

There are people who think bloggers just want free stuff. I admit readily, the free stuff is nice. But trust me… most of my fellow bloggers, like myself, spend far more money in SL as bloggers than they did before they began blogging. That said, I am unbelievably grateful to every single designer who has ever given me something to blog. I can’t blog every thing I get. I just don’t have that kind of stamina, but I try to blog as much of it as possible. The confidence you show in my blogging when you share the creations you’ve put so much love, time and energy into making overwhelms and humbles me. I am honestly in awe of the talent that you all have, and I cannot express what it means to be entrusted with blogging your work.

I also have to thank all my fellow bloggers. The amount of talent in SL is mind boggling. So many of you are a daily inspiration to me.

Finally… I have to thank a few people. There are so many amazing people in my life, and I an thankful for each of you. That said, I wouldn’t be who I am today without the endless love and support of my husband Radagast Lexington. I would be a whole hell of a lot crazier without the encouragement and shoulder to cry on provided by my best friend – in either world – Rosalie Bouscario. And my Second Life would be so much emptier without the love, giggles and silliness of my SL sisters Isley Oodles and AliannaMarie GossipGirl.

So thank you all… whether or not today is a holiday where you live, I hope you are able to find love, support and encouragement like I have found in so many.

Without further ado… my pictures. Oh, and yes, I am aware it looks more like Christmas in my house than it does Thanksgiving. What can I say? I’m a sucker for Christmas decor!

In this first picture, to follow up with Pose Appreciation Week, I am holding this adorable turkey platter from Status Poses. This was part of November’s MySecond Box, and just way too cute to not use! My woodburning stove is festively green, and is a recent release from What Next. The kettle on it is from LISP.

Proud

The food you see on my table is the Thanksgiving Dinner from Rasassy Foods. It’s SO cute! My dining set is from What Next. It’s the Laurel Christmas set and it is (at least as of now) only on Marketplace. The cute sign in the background is from Art Dummy. The adorable turkey shirt I have layered over my fri.day turtleneck is, very appropriately, from RezIpsa Loc.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Autumn Knocks

This autumn has been a rough one for me so far. I feel like life is determined to knock me down, but I have never been one to give up without a fight. The pics I took for this post were designed to celebrate tenacity and fight.

This first look is all about casual comfort… warm, cozy and perfect for a stroll on a crisp autumn morning. The sweater is from NiNight Creations, the tights are RezIpsa Loc. The boots are Triumph from Gos (which fits the theme nicely) and the hair is a recent release from Truth. I took this pic at Scribbled Hearts, my current favorite place to go wander when I’m sad and need a pick-me-up.

November Walk

This second look features an adorable arm cast from Izzie’s. I’ve thought about buying these for ages, but finally had a reason. The “broken arm” represents the challenges in my life right now… but I will not be broken, and I will not give up or give in. The necklace is from Maxi Gossamer and is called Rejuvenated Stitched Heart, which again felt appropriate.

Can't break my spirit

This sweater and skirt are both recent Sn@tch releases. Perfect for fall, they look cozy and comfy and yet, somehow still elegant and sophisticated. The boots are from Schadenfreude, and can be found at the new round of Collabor88 that just opened yesterday.

Fight Back

Here’s a closeup of those boots! I love the detail work, and you can change it to plain with a hud. I was thinking of this as my “blue mood boots.”

Blue Mood Boots

Life is unfair, brutal and frequently cruel… but I choose to find ways to meet the challenges thrown at me, even when I’d rather give in, curl up in bed and hide under my blankets. Today I was able to channel some of the negative energy through the creative outlet of blogging. It felt good, and it makes me grateful for the discovery of Second Life nearly four years ago.
