Summer’s Sunset

I readily admit that I am beyond eager for autumn’s arrival. I’ve been ready for weeks, honestly. It’s just always been my favorite time of year. But summer’s not over just yet, even here at 9,000 feet in Colorado where we could theoretically get our first snow nearly any day now (it’s happened as early as August, though not often). And the gorgeous outfit Valentina E. Couture has out for August’s FaMESHed made me want to dress for summer, even as I crave the first golden aspens of fall. So I found a field of golden sunflowers at beautiful Bella Pace. My hair is Tableau Vivant, also for FaMESHed.

Fields of Gold

My skin is Glam Affair’s stunning Fiona for Uber. I really, really love the lips on this particular face. They’re pouty and lush. I’m wearing new eyelashes from Izzie’s for The Mix Event. My necklace by Cae is another new release available at August’s round of FaMESHed. My eyes are another of Buzzeri’s Duo line available at N21.

The Third Eye

Tableau Vivant released this awesome hair with a built in hat for Hair Fair 2015. For those of you who aren’t hat lovers, there’s also a version available without the hat. But the hat makes me think of Maria Von Trapp or something. It’s so dramatic and huge and awesome. I decided to pair it with these seriously cool eyes from Chop Shop available at Wizarding Faire 2015. They include a third eye, which is optional but so neat! It moves! There’s also a version with gold metal, but as I prefer silver, that’s what can be seen below. I usually prefer very realistic eyes, and these are a bit more dreamy, more doll-like. But I think they’re gorgeous, and I feel really cute wearing them. Especially in this skin, Aribeth, which is a recent release from Essences.

There’s a big sale at EssencesĀ for the rest of the month, and while Aribeth is not part of that sale, plenty of other gorgeous skins are! So if you need a new skin, definitely check out that sale before it ends. The nail applier I am wearing on my Maitreya body is also available at Wizarding Faire, from The Wicked Peach. It’s an applier called Grimoire, featuring house colors and I’m wearing scarlet because I’m a Gryffindor.

Does this hat make my third eye look big?

The little cottage behind me is from Larkham & Co. and can also be found at Wizarding Faire. It’s really adorable, with a cute single room on the ground level and stairs that lead to an upstairs room. I plan to do another post that will show more of this cottage in the coming week, so stay tuned. My dress is an older release from coldLogic, but I wanted to point it out anyway because it is materials enabled and it downright shimmers in the right lighting (with the proper graphics settings). Materials are definitely a cool addition to the SL world. One final Hair Fair note! You can find a list of all participating stores, by sim, on this post on the Hair Fair blog! It will help you navigate this huge (four sims!) event. And remember, all sales help the great charity Wigs For Kids.

Surfacing

You may have heard there’s this little gacha event opening in two days. It’s called The Arcade. Yeah, I’m joking. You have to live under a virtual rock to not know about this one! The shopping guide doesn’t appear to be live yet, but check the site again soon because I’m sure it will be public before long.

In the meantime, check out Tableau Vivant’s awesome Arcade release. The Longfall hair, complete with Mermaid headdress, is ultra dramatic, and perfect for fantasy/RP type pics. I love the cascading waves. I decided to take the opportunity to actually be a mermaid. I found this beautiful mesh mermaid fin on Marketplace.

Surfacing

Here’s a different angle, to show you the beautiful headpiece. I’m wearing one of the rare versions, Kelp. My pretty skin is from Essences, available at The Dressing Room Fusion right now for just L$70 (note: I’ve edited the eyemakeup on this to be more a bit more dramatic, but the skin is stunning so go demo!).

Poseidon's Daughter

And because the title of the first pic (Surfacing) put Sarah McLachlan’s album of the same name in my head, I leave you with this.

This will probably be my last post I can squeeze in before we leave for New York/New Jersey… see ya on the flip side, and have fun at The Arcade when it opens! I’ll have to wait until I return.

Tis the season…

I feel like December has just been running away from me! How is it already almost Christmas?! Well, I have a few things to share, and I won’t ramble on (well, I will try not to) because I know many of us are rushing about trying to get ready for the holidays. But can I just say this about December? Holy events and sales! I do love December, even if it likes to sneak by me.

First up, I borrowed my BFF Rosa, and we got comfy in this adorable igloo from What Next. This igloo is What Next’s Arcade offering for this edition, and you have time still to go try your luck. I’m using the Oh Deer Rare version because I love the little mailbox that is included in the rares. Oh, the pretty, sparkly kittens keeping Rosa company (while I am on the lookout for polar bears!) are two of the Purr Balls from KittyCatS holiday collections. There will be more pics of holiday kittens to come because somehow I wound up with ten of them! I know, I know. I need an intervention. My adorable coat dress, hair and boots are both Collabor88 items. The dress is from The Secret Store, the hair (with hat) is Lamb, and the boots are Ingenue.

Polar Bear Lookout

Next up on the agenda! Blacklace always does the loveliest lingerie, and you can count on Mariska Simons for gorgeous seasonal versions, too. This set is one of the Oakley sets designed for those special festive moments. In my case, it’s relaxing on my new Tia sofa that I snagged at The Garden. I bought the entire living room set. I love the vintage design, and it’s hud controlled with texture change options. I’m using one of the seasonal ones, but it has plenty of gorgeous year round options, too. Speaking of vintage, how awesome is the space heater? I HAD to have that. It’s from 7 Emporium for The Mens Dept and it’s beautifully made, like all 7 items (and can be turned off). My hair is Melita, one of the six new styles Truth recently released, and I love the long, loose curls pulled over one shoulder. The house I am in is the Trilby Dacha, Scarlet Creative’s absolutely stunning Collabor88 home for December.

Santa, baby...

Finally, I have to show you this gorgeous new Glam Affair skin, Kaelyn. I love this skin. It’s just so soft and beautiful, which is classic Glam Affair. I am also debuting my new shape (only the face is different). I got bored! Rosa says I don’t look like “her Lucie” anymore, but I’m loving the change. My gorgeous eyes are the latest release from IKON, and they are mesh! You can find them at the current round of FaMESHed.

I hope to do a decor post tomorrow! I have so many wonderful Christmas goodies to show you.

Enchantment

SL has become so saturated with events that I am kind of feeling exhausted and overwhelmed by them all. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of events that I absolutely love and would be really sad to see end. It’s just that lately I feel like every time I blink, there’s a new event! I say this as the owner (but not creator) of two events. I love my events like they are my babies, so it’s hard for me to say that I think there are too many in SL. But I do. So it takes something really unique, or a special and short term event (like Skin Fair or the highly anticipated Shoetopia) to grab my attention these days. Enchantment does just that. It’s also only every three months, with exclusive items and/or colors. Based on Grimm’s fairy tales, this event is perfect for those who love dramatic, fantasy themed items. The first round is Snow White. The build is spectacular, and there is a wide variety of items, many of which can be used just for every day fun as well as fantasy/RP. You can read more about this new and exciting event here.

My gorgeous gown is from Junbug for Enchantment. It comes in a wide assortment of colors, and all of them are stunning. Junbug is a new to me store, and one I’m thrilled to have discovered! The tiara I’m wearing is a Glam Affair release for FaMESHed, and seemed perfect for this ensemble. It also comes in a lot of color options, which makes me happy! My skin is also Glam Affair, from the new Elvi line which is part of a youth-inspired skin line from Glam. The apple pose prop is from Vanity Poses for Enchantment.

Care for an apple?

I really had fun with these poses. The apple cart is from The Garden and is by Trompe Loeil. The spilled baskets are Dysfunctional Dolly Designs (aka [DDD]). My hair is a new release from Exile, and the romantic, messy updo seemed perfect for a possibly slightly evil queen.

Sweet but tart

Also from the current round of The Garden is this gorgeous camping set from What Next. My outfit is another item from Enchanted by The Library. This ensemble is inspired by the Once Upon A Time television series take on Snow White.

Guardian of the Camp

In this look I am wearing the adorably sweet new Lucie skin from Izzie’s. I was incredibly touched by this release, and consider it an absolute privilege to have been granted such an honor.

Witchy Business

I love Halloween. I love autumn. Both of these things have been discussed before, so I won’t wax on about them, but I had to say it again. Collabor88’s October round is just chock full of autumnal, Halloweenish goodness. If you’ve not yet been, you definitely should go over there before it ends because while the items are definitely inspired by the season, most of them will work year-round!

Kuro In Motion’s recent prop pose release was very helpful in my quest to complete the scene I’d created using the Remedy Caravan that Scarlet Creative has in this round of Collabor88. I fell in love with this caravan, and I bought it even though at the time I had absolutely no clue whatsoever what I’d do with it! Once I’d collected some other Collab items, like the chair from floorplan and the tarot cards from flowey, I figured it out. I knew this little caravan would be perfect for the travelling fortune telling witch on the go. My original concept was to wear something that felt… well… vintage. But then I built this sexy menswear inspired outfit entirely around Truth’s Dylan hair, and I realized I would simply be a modern, business woman witch on the go! Here I am resting up for my next session!

Witch at rest

Fortune tellers require clients, so I snagged a friend to be my victim. Uhm. Client. Though, to be honest, the cards were not kind to her.

Witchy Business

In this last pic, you get a better look at my Eerie jewelry from Cae, which is seasonally appropriate. However, it’s definitely not limited to just the Halloween season. You can change the charms via a hud, and there are many options including the moons I am showing here. There are also ghosts, owls, cats, witch hats, spiders, pumpkins and bats… you definitely need to check out this set! I love moons and owls, so I know I will get year-round use of this set.

I’m also wearing the newly released Vera skin from Glam Affair in the Jamaica tone. I feel like a broken record when I blog Glam Affair because a. I always seem to love each new release even more than the last and b. I just can’t stop talking about how gorgeous they are! Vera is no exception to the trend. It’s flawless.
