Last Call For Vintage Fair!

Vintage Fair 2012 ends tomorrow! This is your last chance to get there and grab all the great goodies in one place, and of course, the exclusives!

I was almost tempted to title this post “The one where I cross dress.” I did this first pic in black & white, both because it doesn’t get a lot more vintage, and because the lovely Maci Restless is sponsoring a Black & White bloggers challenge! I definitely want to do more of this challenge, but this is a start. The entire suit in this look, including the shoes, is from Gizza. The gorgeous skin is from Aeva, and the fun, playful pose – complete with prop – is from HIS.

Gizza for Vintage Fair

I really like this skin, and I made a male shape just for the skin.

Aeva for Vintage Fair

For my second look, I donned this adorable Bombshell dress from Lily Bird. This store was new to me, but I love it! This coral color is so perfect for me, with my red hair. I paired it with some funky jewelry I snagged recently at HANDverk, and a favorite Truth hair.

Lily Bird - Vintage Fair

My skin in these pics is a recent Lazy Sunday offering from CandyDoll. I thought it was an adorable skin, and really wanted to blog it.

Vintage Angles

That’s all for me… be sure to check out Vintage Fair before it ends tomorrow. They’ve turned off landing points, so this list of slurls is very handy!

Sunday Selections

I have 3 looks for you for this post… a combination of Vintage Fair & the Wash Cart Sale. First up, Ingenue for Vintage Fair.

I fell in love with the Greta dress right away. The hardest part was picking which color because there were a lot of options, but I had to go with Songbird. I paired it with this Free As A Bird pendant from Caroline’s. I already had this before Vintage Fair, but you can find it in her Vintage Fair booth, too! It’s pretty and was a perfect match. The earrings are a recent Lazy Sunday offering from Addiction, a jewelry store I really love that is also part of Vintage Fair, and the gorgeous hair is a recent new release from Truth called Soleil.

Songbirds

I paired the dress with one of my favorite pairs of Gos shoes. I felt pretty and elegant, but not overly fussy.

I feel pretty...

My next look made me feel so… bad girl! By SL standards it’s really pretty tame, but I’m rarely one for animal prints and I’m kind of prude with my pixels sometimes. But I just loved this mesh bikini from Souffle for Vintage Fair, and this Alice Project hair from Vintage Fair was a great match. I added some jewelry by me. for Vintage Fair, my new mesh feet from Pixel Mode (which I’m just loving, btw), and took myself to the beach!

Sunbathe

All that sunbathing was hard work, and by late afternoon, I needed a little nap…

Seaside Siesta

My final look features a mesh dress from Sleeping Koala for the Wash Cart Sale. This dress is so cute, and I really just loved it the second I put it on. I threw on Wasabi Pills hair that, while not a new release, is at Vintage Fair and headed to The Grounds to take the pics. I knew I wanted to be near water. I don’t know why, but this dress made me think of the end of summer, especially when I added the Lola Summer hair with its cute little bandana. Again, I’m barefoot! I love being barefoot in RL, and since I love my new feet so much in SL, I’ve been spending lots of time that way here, too.

Summer's Edge

This cute ring with the duckie is from Glow Studio for Vintage Fair. It’s part of a full set with earrings and a necklace and comes in purples (as pictured), silver and gold.

Goodbye To Summer

I hope you’re having an amazing weekend!

I like variety…

Since I like variety, this post is going to bring you a good mix of some current SL events and releases. In this first look, I am featuring Vintage Fair, Collabor88 & FaMESHed. This dramatic mesh gown is from Loovus Dzevavor for Vintage Fair. The hair I paired it with is Wasabi Pills Sylvie for FaMESHed, and the quirky, funky sunglasses are from PIDIDDLE for Collabor88’s 1st birthday Baroque-themed edition.

Swirly

This skin is the new Elena skin from Izzie’s, but more on that in the next look. This adorable prop pose is from Status Poses. I just loved the cute bag, and in this outfit, with this pose, I felt like I was a celebrity trying to escape the paparazzi on the way out of town for a vacation getaway!

Time Travel

My other look must be post-arrival on the “family farm,” because it’s much more casual and country chic! For this look, I paired Geometry’s Vintage Fair Daisy dress with the new barefeet from Pixel Mode and this adorable new braid hairstyle from Truth. The skin is Elena, and I am so in love with this skin. These next pics were taken in T Town, which is a really pretty sim, and a great place to shoot pics.

Lucie on the Prairie

Here’s a better look at the lovely Elena skin. I especially adore the mouth on this face. It’s pouty and sensual, and a nice juxtaposition for the overall innocence of this skin (on a side note, my BFF Rosa told me I looked “too innocent” in this outfit, and she knows me better).

Farmer's Daughter

I hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend… and that Monday is kind to you. More from me soon.

Home Sweet Vintage Home

As soon as I saw the house Ulaa Coronet of Funky Junk made for Vintage Fair, I knew I wanted to blog it. It reminded me of a more stylish Brady Bunch house! I’ll be honest, my personal style runs towards shabby chic, but this was a fun change of pace for me and gave me a chance to stretch my decorating muscles. The house is called Salinas, and just look at it! It’s adorable.

Salinas Front

I had to take a closeup of the front door because I totally love the working doorbell on this house. It’s such a realistic touch! I put out my What Next welcome mat and Wellies, and it feels so charming and, well, welcoming!

Salinas Entry

It has this absolutely awesome sunken living room, with lots of built in shelves. I also grabbed the Vintage Shelf from Funky Junk to put in the living room. This shelf is really cool and has two options. One has all the decor already out and linked. Another one is scripted, and you can select what you’d like to display. You then can click the item to delete the script, too, which is a feature I felt worth mentioning. I had this Sophia sideboard set from What Next already, and realized it would be perfect in the living room. This texture-change rug is from Zigana, and the Old Books on the shelves below the fireplace are a new find from Garden of Dreams.

Salinas Sunken Living Room

The fireplace itself is really awesome because it’s visible from the front parlor, too! I put my Mirabelle tea set from What Next in the front parlor. It made it feel cozy and the fireplace just added to that.

Salinas Parlor

There’s a dining room off the kitchen, but I set it up as a music/study area. It felt like the perfect place for my Upright Piano from Lisp… and for a new desk set What Next has out for Vintage Fair called the Novelle Study.

Salinas Dining Room

And here’s a closeup of the Novelle set… it’s mesh, so be sure you have a mesh capable viewer. It’s also texture change! You can change the desk, chair, rug and even the typewriter!

What Next Novelle Desk

The kitchen is so cute. I love the checkerboard floors. I put my Amelie dining set from Lisp in the kitchen, along with some kitchen furniture I got from Estetica a while back. The light is from the What Next Cafe collection, and I loved the aqua color with the floor.

Salinas Kitchen

Take a stroll out the kitchen door, and you’ll find this charming patio area. I put out my RFL Summer Deck Furniture from Funky Junk, and through the window behind it you can see into the garage. Since I don’t own a car in SL, I put some furniture and a lamp in the garage, creating a cozy little reading area. With the window and a door, the garage is easily converted into an additional bedroom, too. There is also a version of the house without the garage.

Salinas Patio

And speaking of bedrooms, here’s a peek into mine… my bed & nightstand are part of the Shabby Attic set from Fuzzy Bee. My little lounging couch is the Mixed Couch from Zigana.

Salinas Bedroom

This is an adorable family home, with a lot of classic touches. It’s versatile, and can easily be made more modern, if so desired, but personally, I love the vintage flair.

Day to night…

I love versatile looks. In RL, I’m a minimalist. I rarely wear makeup, hate shoes (and socks!) and I tend to keep things pretty simple and I’m frugal. That tendency carries to SL, where I tend to look for styles that are going to work with a multitude of looks. I fell in love with this Vintage Fair offering from One Bad Pixel for that reason. This dress, which makes me think of the quintessential 50s hostess, has this adorable jacket, which by day makes it somewhat more casual. Styled right, it’s not overly fancy or formal, but still sophisticated and elegant. This adorable hair from Adam & Eve (also at Vintage Fair) was sleek, yet not overly fancy for my “day” style.

Day

But say you have an event later that night. You want elegant sophistication, but with a hint of sexy and sultry. Change the hair, add some smokey eyes and paint your mouth with rich red… add your finest jewels, and voilà – your inner movie star is revealed. This hair is new from Wasabi Pills for Vintage Fair, and the jewelry is from Eclectica for Vintage Fair.

OBP, Wasabi Pills

Night

The poses from these “night” looks are part of a Vintage Fair offering from TuTy’s – the Chic AO. I really enjoyed playing with this AO. One thing that really stood out about it is that it has some very unique foot positions. This close up of the SLink Vintage Fair shoes that go with the OBP dress highlights one of these poses. This is where mesh shoes come in really handy, because many non-mesh shoes have built in boot fixers that would override these cool positions, and if they don’t, the shoes won’t look right anyway. But since rigged mesh moves with you, it looks great! Shoes were one of the first places where the benefits of mesh were patently obvious to me for this very reason.

SLink

I am crazy in love with these shoes… they are understated, but feel so glam. I will definitely get a lot of use out of them!

Stay tuned for even more from Vintage Fair.

Zenith, Aura & Izzie’s – Oh, my!

I have so much to share. It’s insane, really. I’ve been managing, despite our craptastic internet connection, to get some looks together and some pictures taken. I apologize, though, because the venue is limited to my sky platform. I love taking “on location” shots in SL, but right now, it’s just so not an option. Still, I think any pics are better than none, especially with so much amazing fashion to share. And, the good news is… we’re getting a new ISP in a week, so then I can get a bit more creative again. Fortunately, the Vintage Fair runs nearly this entire month (it ends August 29th), so there is plenty of time left for me to share my favorites! On that note… let’s get to it!

I’m starting with pics I finished a few days ago, but haven’t had the chance the blog until now. This adorable mesh dress is from Zenith. I look at this one and think “classic” or “timeless.” I paired it with a very vintage, very 30s movie star skin from Agnes Finney and seriously adorable hair from Vanity Fair. The poses are from a mesh keyhole prop by Hopscotch. I loved this prop as soon as I saw it. It’s quirky and cute – and since it’s simple, it rezzed despite my crappy internet, so double yay!

Sassy Beauty

The shoes I chose for this are the Khan heels from Ingenue. Ingenue is part of the Vintage Fair, too… I’ll be blogging one of the VF offerings from that store at a later date. I’ve had these shoes for a while now, but finally got around to wearing them for a post!

Through the keyhole

My other look for this pose features one of the sponsors of Vintage Fair, Aura. For those who don’t know, Aura and Illusory are merging into one store called Auxiliary, and for Vintage Fair we get a look at some of this new collaborative effort. These Luna Jeans & Vintage Tube Top are awesome and come in a ton of colors.

Aura & Izzie's

I paired them with the 80s rounded nails from Izzie’s, and the 80s Eliza skin, also from Izzie’s.

Aura & Izzie's 2

I love this skin. Like all of Izzie’s skins, it’s so soft and pretty, yet this 80s version has a bit of edge. This time I’m wearing the “yellow” makeup option.

August 2012

That’s all for now… more asap!

Vintage Bride & Retro Swimsuit Model!

One of the things I love about being a blogger and getting to preview events like Vintage Fair is that I am discovering items from stores I wouldn’t otherwise have been likely to check out. This gorgeous mesh gown – a 20s inspired wedding gown, to be exact – is one such creation. The poses are from MotionLess Poses, also part of Vintage Fair.

Vintage Bride

Burst of red

The bridal headband also includes an option without a veil. This is a gown that could definitely be worn for other formal events, and not just as a wedding dress. This absolutely stunning Jaci skin from Aeva//Heartsick was a perfect match for this gown, and it is also available at the Vintage Fair. I’ve always admired the work of Amesha Jewell, and I think she’s really outdone herself with her Vintage Fair skins!

Aeva (Heartsick)

Another incredibly gorgeous skin from Aeva//Heartsick is Phoebe. This makeup option – like all the Vintage Fair skins from Aeva//Heartsick – is exclusive to this event, so if you like any of these, be sure to grab them during the event. Once it’s over, the full lines of these new faces will be released, but not these makeups! I wore the version with freckles for this second look. I kept thinking this skin reminded me of someone famous, and eventually I figured out that the version with freckles made me think of a young Lara Flynn Boyle. I decided to use this skin for my retro swimsuit model look. The poses are from Status Poses and are also Vintage Fair items, as is the simply adorable swimsuit from Sleeping Koala.

Retro Swimsuit Model

The hair in this look is from Alice Project, and it’s actually the very first mesh hair I ever bought. It’s not a Vintage Fair item, but it fit the look so perfectly you’d think otherwise!

Pinup Girl

That’s all for now… more soon. My internet is being a brat (to say the least), so I’m cranking these out as fast as I can.
